If anyone is spoiler tagging just for me, don’t worry about it. I think I’ve had every major moment spoiled from going to conventions and living on the internet. Dragon Con especially ruined some things with amazing cosplay jokes. I think I’m going to go for a “turn my brain off” kind of watch to make it up to the new stuff. So many things either really bother me (which I’m realizing now have been gone over tremendously in criticism of the show) or just don’t really grab my attention or hit me emotionally, so if I take a step back and stop trying to care I might actually make it through to have some fun.
Middle of two. I know I’ve finished that season before but now I am lost at where I actually stopped. I forgot just how much there is of Joffrey and he isn’t even fun to hate watch, so those parts are a real chore.
Aw man hating Joffery was one of the best parts! But I mean not really because I really fucking despised him. Fuck that guy so hard.
I just finished the episode where Joffrey abuses Ros and the other girl Tyrion sends to his chamber in season two in my rewatch and holy fuck is Joffrey a little monster. Such a great TV villain.
Regarding Joffrey, spoilers just in case: I knew a handful of spoilers and knew he died at some point but had no clue when it was coming, so him being poisoned after that scene of him just reveling in making fun of Tyrion's stature and that he was basically his servant was so satisfying.
Without him, though, you wouldn't end up with so many fan favorite characters. He's the worst, and he's not fun, but he drives so much plot forward. This exactly.
I mean, I really don’t care. That’s kind of my point. Watching him abuse women for extended periods of time isn’t enjoyable or entertaining to me. He’s not like an, “Oh you! What will you do next?!” That’s why I said it’s a chore.
It's certainly not intended to be entertaining. It's supposed to feel like a chore and make you extremely uncomfortable. And I can more than understand how that is off-putting before seeing the complete character arch. I think all that we're saying is that it definitely serves a purpose in the story, and worth paying attention to for that reason alone.
This is already more emotional investment than I want to spare on this, lol. Hence the turn my brain off comment.
I think you missed some conversation. Lol. I’ve already said I just want to give it a shot since it’s the last time it will be airing live and I want to play along. I’m just learning that the only way to do that is to not invest in anything at all, because it falls apart for me with the slightest attention to what is happening.
It’s not really FOMO, I just know it’s a major event and seeing it happen will be cool. Something of this scale may not happen again for a long time.
Eh, it’s not really like I’m afraid I’ll actually be missing out or something. I haven’t minded being on the outside for the whole run. It’s more like a, “Hey, why not,” kind of thing that would be fun to watch and actually know what’s going on. I’m surprised it took so long for people here to have a problem with it, the reaction earlier seemed way too chill. Lol.
Sadly I’m working lots of extra hours this week, so my plan of just having a few lazy days where I binge it won’t happen.
