Wow that article definitely confirms a tiny bit of a spoiler in story sequencing, and something I've been theorizing since last season... The Battle for the Dawn against the Night King sounds like it will indeed be wrapped up first, and then the battle for the throne will be how the series actually ends. Interesting choice....I think we all always assumed the real battle against the Night King would be the end result of the show because it had been building in the background for so long and made all the little fights over titles seem so small in comparison....but the more I thought about where they left off season 7, the more it made no sense to me that Dany/Jon/whoever would get the throne first before taking on the army of the dead. That article pretty much confirms that to be the case. Gonna be interesting to see who is still left over for that fight. I feel like Jorah amd Jaime aren't going to make the journey south
They put out casting calls for someone that many believe will be the leader of the Golden Company that Cersei sent Euron to go hire...it'll prob be them plus whoever is left of the Lannister army at this point....and if the GC is supposed to be 10,000 troops, that could be more than what the North has left after the Night King gets through with them hah
Watched S6E1-4 today. I don't need to spoiler tag stuff from the show that's already aired at this point do I? Jon and Sansa's reunion genuinely made me really happy, there's not enough good things happening to the characters on this show and that moment felt really earned. Not to mention that Sansa has literally been suffering since the beginning of the show
I made my girlfriend, who is not a GoT fan, leave the room during the Oberyn / Mountain fight so that she wouldn't get forever disturbed.
Is there a generally accepted point where you either know that you will get hooked on this or not? I have tried like a half dozen times to start and every time I feel like I need to rewatch season one and then every time I burn out in season two. I want to be a part of the zeitgeist before it’s over but I’m afraid I need to throw in the towel and that makes me sad.
I watched season one about a year and a half ago or something and didn't care for it. Then a few weeks ago I watched a 25 minute season one recap and then started at season two and was hooked by mid-season three or so.
Do you have a link to that recap? I’ve seen it so much that I feel like I have an ok idea now but still not confident enough to jump back in.
Season 1 then Season 2 and then Season 1 again worked for me. I mean I was already into it by season 2, but going back and watching Season 1 again really made me invested in the characters because I had such a better idea of who they are were/what ties they had to other chharacters/etc. Like, Ned and others talking about Stannis in Season 1 made so much more sense after Season 2.
One bad thing for me is that I don't really know half the characters names and almost none of the location names. I think that's one negative of binging it all so quickly, everything is visual and there's no time to breathe between episodes/seasons to really learn them. It's not a huge deal to me though, haha
