The only thing that ruined it for me is D&D trying to pass off Bronn as that stupid.

honestly hated everything about the arya/sansa plotline from this season. i know people are happy at the fact that there wasnt really a rift between the two and they didnt allow for lf to play them but that's still how it was shown to us for some time and we still had to watch it, and it was boring and useless and they could have easily concluded that last episode.

dragonpit stuff was cool but for how little time the show has they sure dont spend it too wisely, cersei went from being against the alliance, to being for it, to being against it, to being for it, to have it turn out that being against it was her plan all along in the span of one episode.

zombie dragon destroying the wall was awesome though and a lot of the reunions were exciting.

Cersei being against the truce wasn't too surprising. she previously mentioned doing something duplicitous. So I wasn't convinced she actually meant to help and was waiting to see what she'd actually say behind closed doors.

I don't know what to tell you if you thought Cersei was actually considering doing anything other than moves for the most personal gain.

Euron to Essos surprised me for whatever reason. Cersei immediately backstabbing the alliance? Even money bet.

    do we think tyrion knows any of the following;

    a) that cersei was full of shit about lending her army
    b) jons parentage (that odd look at the end tells me he may)

just seems like tyrion is always watching out for tyrion, regardless of who he has currently pledged himself to

    b) no. he's clearly joined her unrequited love squad.

if the point is that everyone already knows what cersei's motives were then the show forced us to watch dilly dallying to an end we're supposed to know, and that only makes it worse and an even bigger waste of time.

i wasnt surprised that she went back on it, i was a little surprised that she was just like "lol AS IF" and just flopped that quickly/had no intention of it from the start.

wondering what tyrion said to her to at least make her feign alliance

cersei was but one section of that scene though. there were a ton of vital, even if short, conversations being had in and around the pit sequence.

and, without that exact "waste of time" happening, Jaime doesn't leave. all of cersei's posturing was necessary.

they could have still done all of that without having cersei wax poetic about the importance of helping or not helping every single time she "changes her mind", there may have been vital conversations but a lot cersei's lines weren't vital especially if you already know what her true intentions are from the get go.

like i wouldnt mind them spending so much time on it so much if the season didnt already suffer from being rushed. this is what they chose to spend their very limited time on?

  12. All this complaining about the secretivity of the Stark family and Littlefinger situation... were you also upset that we didn't see the Freys and Boltons planning out the Red Wedding? Was the Purple Wedding a disaster because we never saw Olena give the poison necklace to the drunk knight beforehand? Did you hate the 6th Sense because the title screen didn't clearly state "Bruce Willis is dead the whole time"?

Sometimes it's ok to leave the audience in the dark. I wouldn't watch this show, or any show, if every single thingthat happened was telegraphed and spelled out beforehand.

I also don't know why anyone disliked Theon's scene? Small comedic aspects were well done, and finally he's found a spine. I was happy about that. If the Ironborn had just left the beach and he sat there bleeding and useless i'd be asking for his head right about now.

Cersei's posturing was one of my favorite things about this episode. Really masterful manipulation going back and forth. It couldn't be too easy. It's necessary in order for her to fool everyone, including Jaime. Really loved the scene between Tyrion and Cersei especially. Pretty much everything around the dragon pit sequence was pretty great. Dany knows how to make an entrance.

It was a quiet few moments, but I really loved the scenes of snow beginning to fall in the south.

I also enjoyed the scene, but it was a little ridiculous that the tone wound up being "I have no testicles, so this doesn't hurt!". It would still hurt like fuck to have 5 or 6 repeated full force knees to the groin from a dude twice your size.

i really liked theon's redemption scene though i find it kind of funny how easily manipulated the ironborn are, all it takes a short little speech for them to have a total change of heart

next season is basically going to be about two women who were possibly impregnated via incest trying to kill each other

if GRRM's endgame was to have millions of people around the world cheer for incest, well...

No to all of your questions.

There's a difference between leaving an audience in the dark and surprising them, and misdirecting them for no damn reason for most of a season only to reveal that the characters who have been making threats to each other for significant portions of screen time were actually working together all along or at some point for some reason (which apparently we'll never know or even have a hint at) they decided to get along. It's a vital part of the story. I want to know why the sisters stopped fighting, how much fighting there was, and what changed the situation? I mean, if you're cool that the show decided to have more unnecessary incest and Ed Sheeran on screen for way too long (at all) and all sorts of other pointless scenes throughout this season, instead of showing pivotal scenes and backstory, then more power to you.

Also, there were plenty of hints before the purple wedding. That necklace that was put on Sansa prior to the wedding was given a lot of screen time and talked about in a way that foreshadowed its use in some way or the other. Not explicitly signaling it would be used to poison Joffrey, but you weren't surprised when it happened. If you go back and watch the episode about the wedding. It's there.

*edited for confusing the book's pendant and the show's necklace.

Don't know about the army, but the first thing that sprung to mind about that odd look Tyrion gave was that he knows something about the parentage. I mean, how old is Tyrion? Is he old enough to have known or met Rhaegar in some capacity? If so, could he know somehow because of that?

So I'm a little bit confused about how the books are going to deal with the Jon Snow news, as there will then be 3 Targaryans alive and claiming the throne, plus it pours water on Brans claim of Jon now being "the true heir to the throne", since Aegon/ Young Griff would surely be older than Jon?

I can't even begin to think about how it's going to be dealt with... I'm so confused...

Yeah so am I to be honest. There's too much that would need to be changed for it to make sense. I'm trying to get the wiki to read further into it, but it's not loading on my phone..
