I watched the leak but I was definitely not in that few who claimed this was one of the best episodes of the series... I thought it was pretty ridiculous. haha.

When I rewatched last night, I pretty much stopped paying attention any time Sansa and Arya were on the screen. So boring. I'm still holding out for the three of them to do something awesome next season, but the build up to all the Stark children returning home was very anticlimactic. I feel like none of them do anything.

Eh. I see Dany making it to the end. I think Jon and Dany are the folks around which they're trying to close the show. Their ability to lay the groundwork has been lacking. That being said, I still have enjoyed the show. But, they maybe should have had ten episodes this season, then 7 or 8 the next.

i do feel like we were robbed of a nice, emotional reunion for Arya/Sansa, but at the same time, with what the two of them have been through, i imagine it's hard to be happy about anything anymore, especially after spending (years?) just assuming the other is dead.

i think the eventual arya/jon reunion will be good though, at least i hope.

Yeah I definitely enjoyed this episode but it was in no way one of their best. There were tons of plot holes and events that didn't lineup with things we already knew, and I agree some shitty dialogue.

There's no way the events of Gendry running to Eastwatch, sending a raven, Dany receiving it and making it to their exact location happened within a time span that was probably barely 12 hours. Even with all this and whatever future things they have to do to wrap up the show, I'm still not going to enjoy it any less. It was always going to be hard to

And as much as I hated it emotionally, I did not have a problem with the Arya-Sansa stuff. As Sansa said, they basically don't know each other anymore and they were children (that didn't really get along) the last time they saw each other. So everything they've been through could have absolutely skewed their views of each other and their actions.

I also want to bring up how great Dany looked in her new winter threads. Costumes have been top notch this season.

They need to do something with Littlefinger though. It's been building up for several seasons now how much we shouldn't trust him and that he is plotting something, but at this point I can't even think of what he could be doing that's big enough to justify all this build up. Just turning Arya and Sansa against each other? Is he still trying to marry Sansa? Then what? Put Sansa on the Iron Throne?

yeah i'm not sure i'm ready for him to go just yet, because i do think he's an evil genius. I think Arya is one step ahead of him but that doesnt mean that Littlefinger isnt still just ahead of her. I want arya/sansa to realize it's not eachother they need to be against, it's LF, but not necessarily have him die in the next episode.

Oh I didn't say have him die haha I just need something to actually happen with him, more than just him trying to nudge Arya and Sansa into conflict. I don't fully buy that he's that much of a threat to them because honestly what has he done other than manipulate Sansa? I'm sure there's more than I'm remembering. He was responsible for her wedding to Ramsay right? So I get he's a bad dude, but I just don't buy him as a huge threat right now that he's supposed to be.

There's a thread in r/gameofthrones where someone did the math on the whole episode timeline. It comes out to about 5 days. I'll see if I can find it.

    Edit found it:
tl;dr it took about 5 days for word to get to Dany and for her to get back to them. Which is about how long it would take for the ice to freeze enough to support the army of wights.

Regarding Gendry, The Raven, and the timing of it all, it makes sense. I'm going to assume since they were looking for a lone White that they were not going in a straight line from East watch, they were probably going back and forth in a zigzag (rip rickon) so Gendry running at full speed back to the wall, let's say that took about 4 hours. The trip from Castle black to Winterfell is about 600 miles (a little farther from East watch), a raven going full speed (28mph) could probably make that trip in a little over a day. From Winterfell to King's Landing is about A Thousand Miles according to Cersei in S5E6, so it would be about the same maybe a little more from Winterfell to Dragonstone. So let's say it takes the raven 4 days to get to Dragonstone. Dragons on the other hand, I couldn't find much info about how fast they can go. So for the sake of argument let's say they top out with a rider at about 175 mph. So that's about a 12-hour flight straight to Snow Team 6. So the overall time it takes Danny to get to Jon, is about 5 days. This makes sense considering that they had to wait for the ice to freeze over the lake again. Considering that the ice had to support a huge hoard of wights, the ice would have to be around 8 inches thick. Assuming an average temperature of 10 °F (they're not that far north) the ice would be growing at 1.5 inches per day. This works out to 7.5 inches of ice. Guys, the math works out.

I rarely interact with the the fans, I just watch the show as I have since the beginning and not think about it. Like there are vastly worse shows I've watched in my life and I enjoy this enough to ignore it's flaws. Like after Lost and HIMYM, I can deal with it.

Yeah, there's always that aspect where they've just been through too much to really come back home and be all happy and cheery, but still. I'm also hoping this whole thing is a ploy to turn the tables on Littlefinger, because if it's not....it seems ridiculous to go through all of this stuff to get your house back and then immediately bicker with your sister who you thought was dead for years and years.

Then there's Bran. Years and years of "training" to learn about the past, stumbling upon huge secrets about the world, and he just sits next to a tree and decides to say nothing until the plot is ready for him.

Jesus christ, the Sansa/Arya stuff is so bad. This show has gone from upending expectations to trying its best to meet them, and failing pretty miserably.

  17. I've been on team Littlefinger since the beginning of the show (one of the few, don't hate me). He knows a lot more than we think. He has to be a big part of the finale.

Yeah Littlefinger is a god when it comes to outsmarting people. Don't know why people are surprised that Arya is so easily played.

It just baffles me every time he's on screen. It's been proven to every character that he can't be trusted, but anytime something goes wrong for Sansa, she immediately confides in him. Then Arya finds a scroll that Littlefinger was trying to hide, even though said scroll has nothing incriminating about Littlefinger at all and he has no reason to hide it...that doesn't seem suspicious to her at all? haha it just all seems fishy.

No one else think the dagger Arya passed to Sansa could be key? Probably go to Bran with it, he says something finally, then Sansa kills him. That's my wild prediction.

a nice twist would be littlefinger was already killed by arya and every time we see LF on screen its actually arya looking to see sansa's true motives and feelings about all this.

highly doubt thats anywhere near a remote possibility though since we just saw LF watching arya from afar last episode.

I was hoping for something like that. I feel like if something like that is going to happen, it might as well just happen in the next episode. Second to last season finale and it's the most relevant that it's ever been....
