Guys, I watched the leaked episode and it feels bad man. It's better to wait a week between episodes. Also, there are some logistically impossible things that happen that ruin it for me. I cant' suspend disbelief when it's that sloppy.

Lastly....THE DIALOGUE. I think D&D are taking it and running with it, but wow, it doesn't feel like GOT at all.

 

That is a hilarious name for a subreddit. haha. I can't even remember what sub I was on but it wasn't even GoT. It was just a rogue chain that got talking about GoT and someone mentioned the script leaking.

 

The part about Cersei getting pregnant was great... Do we think she's telling the truth and is really pregnant or is it just a scheme to trick Jaime into staying loyal to her?

I think it's more interesting if she's actually pregnant just because it most likely puts a timer on her lifespan. She knows from the prophecy that she won't have a fourth child which means she'll be aware she has no more than nine months to live.

 

that's an interesting take, I'd always assumed it was just a scheme because of the prophecy, but that could get dark, especially if it's still Jaime that finishes her.

Gave in and watched tonight because it's SummerSlam weekend and I have no idea when I'm actually going to find the time to sit down and watch Thrones before Monday

I've defended the pacing of this season thus far, but this episode really proves that the show needed at least one more season. In the mad dash to get to the big hitting action (which has been awesome!), a lot of characters and their development/motives/previous characteristics are being either completely ignored, totally washed away, or unexplained. Many of you have already brought up Bran (shit, for a character who essentially ties this entire story together, they REALLY haven't dedicated much time to him throughout the entire run of the series). Arya is supposed to be a master of knowing when she is being lied to and yet is falling into a pretty obvious trap by a guy she knows is untrustworthy. Like, I'd expect there to be tension between her and Sansa after all this time, but the way they're generating that tension is such a fucking stretch given everything Arya has learned. She's even had interactions with Littlefinger and has seen up close how he operates before! I was sincerely hoping this was all one big ploy by the Stark sisters to finally pull one over on Littlefinger, but too many of these moments are happening between closed doors with just the two of them for me to even believe that if they do go that route now. Jon & co. sitting on the rock biding their time because the water isn't frozen? But didn't we see the White Walkers freeze a large portion of the bay in Hardhome? And do we not see a bunch of wights emerging from the fucking water later on in the episode anyways? For an episode that had so many thrills, holy fuck there was some insanely lazy writing and set-up. Even if they were unwilling to go on for three more seasons instead of two, I cannot wrap my head around how they thought cutting three episodes to each of the final two seasons was a good idea. They very much could have used those three episodes so far this season to easily fix a lot of these issues. I know everyone has always clamored for the big set pieces, and maybe the majority of viewers don't give a damn about dialogue and character development or any of that stuff, but THAT is what made those major moments like Battle of the Bastards and Hardhome such phenomenal TV. The big moment of the walker taking down Viserion and then raising him should have been two of the most insane moments in this show's entire run but, for me, it totally didn't feel earned whatsoever in this episode. The emotional impact that should have been there was totally lacking, and I blame that in large part because of the pacing. For the first time as a show watcher, I am incredibly concerned about D&D's ability to finish telling this story (which maybe is apt, because I've also been incredibly concerned about George's ability to finish telling this story).

Annnnnnnnnnnd now you all know what it feels like to be a wrestling fan too, btw. Pretty fucking apt that I am having these feelings at this very moment essentially because of wrestling

I can't wait for Monday when I can go back like 5 pages and read all the spoiler tagged reactions haha, I wonder if this episode is going to follow suit as being the "episode 9" crazy episode we've all come to expect.

how weird was it to see Dany wearing a jacket and being in the snow?

 

The leak I saw was HD but was slightly sped up...so I'm excited to see all the action tonight where everyone speaks at their normal pitch.

 

The first 10 minutes of that was so weird. Felt like watching the episode with community theater actors overdubbing

 

Yeah, I had to lower the playback speed when I watched it, it was making me nauseous haha

 

I wish Jon stopped Jorah and was like "Oh btw...your niece? Total fucking badass."
