I was wondering. With Randyll and Dickon gone, who inherits for the Tarly's? Gilly's baby?

Sam has a younger brother in the books I think. I imagine they'll set it up for Gilly's son to be his heir, assuming he's released from the Watch. If both his brothers die in the books though man that gets interesting.

I think in the time off from season 7 to 8 I will read all the books to hold me over until whenever season 8 airs.

Well I just mean people who haven't read the books and don't post in internet forums going over every little plot point or watch youtube videos etc. There are people who have seen every episode of this show and still don't really know who R and L even are.

Dickon is his only brother, who is younger than him (they really aged him up for the show). He also has his sister Talla. But yeah I'd expect Little Sam to become the heir, unless Sam leaves the Night's Watch.

Whoops haha. Thanks for clearing that up. So yeah, pretty good deal for Little Sam haha. I doubt there will be a Night's Watch to leave in the end too.

Yeah the whole reason Sam is in the Night's Watch in the first place is because his dad was a dick and didn't want Sam to remain as the heir.

Probably not but I'm just curious if Sam is even going to return to the NW or if he's going straight to Winterfell.

That's right! I forgot that. I'm glad they gave Randyll that moment at the end though. Made him less of a caricature of an asshole and more like a human...who is an asshole.

Yeah I imagine he just heads to Winterfell. No reason to go up to the Wall at the moment.

Does Sam know Jon is KITN at this point? I don't remember seeing it mentioned down there yet

This seems to be a pretty consistent critical take on season 7 thus far.
At least from what I've seen and listened to via podcasts.

One of the best shows ever and yes things have to be different due to the show runners deciding to wrap everything up in 13 episodes....but when things are rushed, the payoffs don't always feel earned.

I want to see more arya and Sansa, because we waited 6 seasons. I want tyrion and Jamie's reunion to get more screen time than greyworms sex scene. I want to know why Jon thinks going beyond the wall will convince Cersei. And additionally why sending the king, the last Baratheon, the leader of the free people, and the newly re introduced Jorah is even remotely the smartest way to do the suicide mission.

Maybe it will all wrap up and these complains are short sighted, but some of the show logic has been frustrating following the long and sometimes tedious journey we've taken with these characters over the years/seasons.

Im glad others are enjoying this at the same level as the rest of the seasons. Hoping it all works out and I can get stoked again.

Sam sent the message about the dragonglass to Jon while he was at Winterfell, so yes.

Oh yeah true...they never showed Sam finding out he was KITN tho. Last season he got to Oldtown and told the front desk dude that he was sent by Lord Commander Jon and I don't remember any info about it otherwise.

I know we're fast forwarding past a lot of it but I kind of wanted to see Sams reaction to that info haha

I actually don't blame them. My dad watches the show pretty casually, so he's aware of the major plot lines and characters, but he's definitely not an internet goer or book reader, so I would imagine he doesn't really have the strongest grasp on who Rhaegar even is.

Really, if you look at it from that perspective, it would be a little hard to follow considering Rhaegar is not really mentioned all that much outside of the first season and things like Ned's brother and father getting burned by the mad king have only been mentioned in passing. I would say my dad is aware that Lyana is Jon's mother and that some Targaryen dude is the father, but he probably wouldn't known anything about the events that started Robert's Rebellion.

I'd definitely throw it in for one of the best. To be honest, I definitely think HBO is the best television network available.
