Just out of curiosity...what are some of your favorite series over the past few years?

Yes, it will! You have to use a VPN, but it absolutely works. I used ExpressVPN and had zero issues with HBO Now.

The Walking Dead is pretty terrible so these takes make sense.

That episode was everything. So much to process. Welcome back Gendry!

Bro we got two episodes left in this season. If this season ends how pretty much everyone has assumed it will, we've got a lot of traveling to do lol. Or maybe we don't, who knows. But we probably do. I doubt they just go north and chill while Cersei waits.

These actions aren't all taking place simultaneously. Given the limited time left it doesn't make sense to go a few episodes without meaningful scenes with main characters.

The next two episodes are 71 and 81 minutes. Get hyped about that.

Yeah there's no way that that rowing line wasn't written purely as fan service based on the internet's rowing jokes over the years.

I understand why they are doing it, and I think the episodes have been good. But it for sure feels different than seasons 1-4. The dialogue is a lot more direct. The story seems mostly guided by what you'd expect/want to happen. The Gendry Jon thing seems a bit super hero movie esque with the battle hammer and bromance. Pushing fan fiction levels in some areas.

Things just seem to....work. with the occasional speed bump. Whereas before things didn't seem so easy for the protagonists.

I absolutely understand why they are doing it, and I think the episodes have been great, just something I can definitely notice and it feels odd and not what I'm used to.

Like I get why speed travel is a little awkward, but it moves the story along, so I'm on board.

Yeah that Gendry Jon bromance based on their dads being good friends is funny when really Gendry's dad......

I do agree with you here. Some scenes have definitely felt rushed with dialogue being more straightforward and things working more easily than normal. I see this as more of an issue than the travel but I'm still loving this season.

I think that has a lot to do with the power dynamics now. The majority of the series up until this point has focused on these three people rising to power. Now that they are all in power, of course things come easy to them. The dialog has definitely changed, though I think that's because of who is left standing. None of the dialog has changed as far as the characters go, it's just certain characters are no longer there. As far as the predictability, I said it months ago and I stand by it - every story will get more predictable as we close in on the end. At the very least, you've got an audience of seven years who has grown to know the story so at a certain point things are hard to predict.

I mean shit, by the time LOST ended I nearly had a perfect score when it came to guessing the finale.

Boring, set up episode, but next week should be great. The only complaint I have is Jaimie's plot armor. No need for the cliffhanger last episode if its going to be that stupid.
