I don't know if this is accurate but I thought that I read in an interview or article that they said they definitely were not going to adapt the LS story from the books into the show. I think it would have already happened by now anyway. With only like 8-9 total episodes left in the series it makes no sense to do it now.

There's no way Lady Stoneheart will be incorporated. Part of me thinks that's a shame, part of me is happy that there is at least one major plot hook that will remain exclusive to the books and therefore give me incentive to remain excited for them.

Even though it happened in the show too, I can't wait for the Field of Fire we just watched to be described in detail in the books from like 3 or 4 different POVs

I am in a re-watch of season 6 now and came up with these thoughts. Howland Reed is one of few people that knows the truth about Jon Snow besides Bran 2.0 and Ned Stark. He needs a reason to be brought into the show, and I think Meera going home is that window for what i'd assume is the last of maybe a few characters to be brought into the fold. His purpose should be to be the one to legitimize the claim of R+L=J. Bran may know this already, and allowed Meera to leave the way he did so that she would go to him.

It's episode 5 already and we know from the trailers that Jon ends up beyond the wall or close to it before seasons end...it's starting to make me worry that he never ends up back at Winterfell this season. Which will suck sooooooo much. I want him to see Bran and Arya...

However, that WOULD open up your theory a bit more...if Bran never gets a chance to see Jon and tell him, then it would mean Howland can travel North with Meera and join the fight/confirm what Bran knows

Yeah, I don't think we'll be getting a reunion this season. We may not even get one at all and I kind of hope it's that way. I'd rather the next time Jon sees Arya be in the midst of the war and she's riding Nymeria and kicking ass.

Why does everyone wanna see Starks actually riding direwolves? Lol that sounds so ridiculous on paper.

The only thing that sounds ridiculous on paper is having a wolf that is twice your height and NOT riding it into battle.

I think the wolves are far too precious to ride into battle - they're not owned in the same way horses are, it's a deeply personal companionship. It would be strange for Jon to be willing to risk his wolf's life without a very good reason to do so.

I want Podrick to start riding Brienne in to battle like Bran and Hodor.

I don't think I ever mentioned it but that Sam/Jorah connection definitely results in Jorah getting the Tarly sword, right?

I think Sam took it in part to study it and see if he can decipher how it was made. Maybe with the dragonglass it's not necessary but otherwise why would he have bothered? I feel like there has to be more to it than him screwing over Randyll/Dickon

That's what I'm saying. He took it so it ends up in the hands of someone who can use it.

Yeah can't wait to see what he does with Heartsbane (I think is the name). Also, still have no clue what the hell happened to Randyl. Maybe he took off once he saw the dragon. Although we didn't see it, I like to assume the huge spear is no longer stuck in Drogon ha.

I took it as more Sam being a bit more bold now and claiming what is his by birthright, since he already gave up everything else that was rightfully his.

Is it ever confirmed in the books if Robb actually rides his direwolf into battle, or was that solely a rumor?

Also, you can thank Drogon for the lack of Ghost this season. Those dragons are EXPENSIVE.

Yeah, I think that was mostly chalked up to Arya getting to blow smoke up Tywin's ass when he asked her in the show haha.

I totally forgot Arya mentions it on the show, too. I remember in the books it's something that is mentioned a couple times I think in various chapters. Nice little nod in the show to have Arya mention it to Tywin.

I'm so glad they had her end up as Tywin's cupbearer and not Roose's like in the books. Those rare few Tywin/Arya scenes were great.

The preview for next episode shows Jon at Winterfell talking about how Bran sees where the Night King is moving.
