This last episode was really good but I had a few qualms:
    - I hated the cave painting part. It was way too convenient and silly and just a clunky way to keep the plot moving.
    - The last battle was great, but it was a bit hard to believe that with all the chaos going on, and everything burning around Jamie, that he wasn't charred to bits. He was right in the thick of things yet came out unharmed. I think it would have been better to have had him slightly removed from all the chaos or come out more wounded than he did. It was just a bit far fetched and again, convenient.

Having said all that, that last charge was absolutely thrilling because even though I was 99% sure neither one was going to die, you just never know on a show like this. Really enjoying this season so far and the break neck pace it's taking on (even if some of the timelines don't make sense with ships and armies seemingly travelling faster than physically capable to act on intel)

he's sitting on the bench in my fantasy league, doing absolutely nothing. he was my last pick so that's to be expected I guess..

The timeline here actually wasn't as bad. Highgarden is very far away from King's Landing when compared to Dragonstone.

wild theory for Dany being Lightbringer/Azor Ahai:
ambush at sea by Euron is tempering with water, Casterly Rock fiasco by lion, and Jorah becomes Nissa Nissa by sacrificing himself for her cause.
(alternativley she kills Jon Snow (ice/water), Tyrion (lion), and Jorah, or they all sacrifice themselves for her, or betray her, or something).

I feel like the timeline thing isn't as big of a deal as people make it out to be. We can't assume all these things are happening simultaneously (which has actually been mentioned by D&D). Things don't necessarily happen as quick as they do in the show, either. There could be days, weeks, or months between scenes when all we're getting is a quick cut, which makes it seem like everyone is time traveling and teleporting everywhere. For example, the journey from King's Landing to Winterfell takes about a month and that was covered in what, one episode (way back in season 1)?

I get that that was then and this is now, but they are also out of source material to work with and can proceed at their own pace rather than follow the books. I guess I don't mind the pacing as much this season.

Jaime not getting burned bothered me too. But Bronn not getting singed bothered me the most. When Drogon swooped down after taking that spear and scorched everything around the Scorpion and yet Bronn walks away basically unscathed - that was a little frustrating.

I don't know which part he will play but Rhaegar believed himself to be the Prince until he read something that convinced him to become a warrior and that his son will be the Prince. "Our Prince wanted us here" clearly says which son he thinks is the one from the prophecy.

  8. Was it already well known that the dagger might be a targaryen dagger? I just saw a video earlier and never knew that might be the case.

    The dagger is Littlefingers

I think he means the original owner. No way Littlefinger is the original owner of a valeryian dagger given his common birth. Also, the fact that it was pictured in one of Sam's book at the Citadel.

  11. Yeah what Mick said. The dagger appeared in Sam's book, handle might be dragonglass, could have belonged to the targaryens

My bet is it belonged to Nymeria.

Would be pretty poetic, given that Arya is the one who now wields it.

That's mostly why I think that haha. It's significant enough to be in a book in Oldtown and the Arya and Nymeria comparisons have been there since the beginning.

Littlefinger lost it to Tyrion in a bet in season one, right?

That's the story but Tyrion and others have denied that. It's likely Littlefinger won it from Robert.

Ah ok. Was trying to remember how Littlefinger came upon the knife. Because someone of Tyrion's station having it would've made sense.

I don't think it's ever actually been determined how they got the knife. From what I remember Joffrey stole it from Robert and somehow Littlefinger got it.

Unless Tyrion pulls off the most insane heel turn in TV history, I think it's safe to say the dagger never belonged to him and Littlefinger was lying when he claimed to have lost it to him in a bet. Of all the characters in the show, Tyrion has largely been one of the most honest. Also, it's a pretty major deal that the Lannisters lost their valyrian sword. If Tyrion somehow came to own a valyrian dagger, that would be a pretty major thing people would likely know about.

And I believe in the books Littlefinger actually loses the dagger to Robert at some point.

If I'm remembering correctly, the books have yet to decidedly say who was behind the assassination attempt, although the belief amongst Tyrion and Jaime is that it was Joffrey, perhaps in a twisted attempt to impress Robert. Though I do think it would be quite interesting if in both the show and the books that it's revealed to have actually been Cersei. Tyrion and Jaime are both convinced it could not have been Cersei, but I like the thought of a little seed of Cersei's true madness being there from the beginning (and perhaps Jaime finding out that Cersei lied about it ties into the prophecy of her death—though now that I think about it, I can't see why exactly Cersei would lie to Jaime about that considering the event that starts this entire thing was Jaime literally pushing a child out a window to try to kill him).

I think it was the other way around, little finger said he lost it to Tyrion.

But yeah, still a lie. Pretty easy to see that he used that story to continue Cat and Ned's anger and distrust towards the Lannisters.

shit, yeah, that's what I meant.

It's been a while since I read ACOK (or whenever this happened), but didn't Jaime even tell Cat that there was no way Tyrion would bet against him with LF when she asked him about what happened to Bran

Since Bran is the Three Eyed Raven now, though, presumably he would know who tried to kill him? Maybe that's how to close up that plot hole on the show.
