There's precedent for Dany balking at incest, she was put off whenever her brother got weird about her, and they go to great lengths to show Dany's desire to be different from previous Targaryens. I wouldn't rule out the possibility that someone in one of their camps suggests a betrothal, but I don't think the show will go through with a full-on Dany/Jon romance. I very much hope they don't.

The behind-the-scenes video on HBO for the battle is crazy. So much props for the work people do on this show.

really thought bronn was going to go out in a literal blaze of glory last night but am so glad he didnt

also for a split second thought that tyrion would end up killing bronn and it made my heart hurt to even consider.

i also love the "you've got to be kidding me" look that every character has on their face when they actually see the dragons for the first time.

This is where I stand, as well. I don't think there's any actual NEED for them to be together, romantically, although I do think a marriage will be a logical strategic move. I'm hoping it's a Luke and Leia situation where the two are "attracted" to each other, but they don't understand why yet... They just know some kind of connection is there.

I think with the speed of this season, we'll probably address these things sooner than later. Looked like Jon was in front of a dragon in the NEP.

  12. can't wait to rewatch this afternoon, but just had a thought, remember Littlefinger's lecture to Sansa last week? "Every possible outcome is happening at once"

and then the next episode is just full of shit that Littlefinger and anyone else would have no way of even imagining, and Littlefinger watched a few of them. He definitely didn't anticipate Arya being a world class assassin or Bran apparently mind reading

  13. Also just amazing how you go into that battle rooting for Dany and friends wholeheartedly and come out of it feeling sorry and horrified for Lannister soldiers, so well done

Now that things are really progressing, I find myself rooting for the people I've rooted against almost the entire show. Well, I rooted for Tywin, but never liked Cersei or Jamie. I despised Littlefinger, i.e. Tommy Carcetti, but now I want to see him survive to the end, not just survive, but to see him rise to a more powerful position. I want to see Daenerys fail and the dragons dead. Hmm. I still like Jon Snow though.

  16. What I'm wondering now is what is the next major twist. I'd be shocked if the rest of the show just played out as, Jon and Dany reconcile however they do, beat the Lannisters and white walkers in whatever order, and revive the Targaryen dynasty. One of Jon or Dany has to die or betray the other somehow, right? Or maybe there's an unexpected victory by the Night King in the north or the Lannisters in the south that screws up that plan? Something else has to go majorly wrong

Re: incest, yes historically in both their world and ours, brother-sister is a bit weird and looked down on (yeah the Targs did it but everyone was kind of looking the other way on the practice that wasn't really seen as natural)...but also in both their world and ours, nobles marrying cousins or nieces/nephews has been a pretty common historic practice. So Dany/Jon getting together wouldn't be seen nearly as weird.

My guess most of the twists remaining will involve the White Walkers...I mean, the wall coming down is something we all expect to happen, but it still would be something majorly wrong happening haha. Though it seems like theyre going with the whole "we're just gonna freeze the ocean and walk around the wall" bit.

Also it's something people have been speculating for a couple of seasons now but what happens if a White Walker kills a dragon? Do they raise it up and make it a park of their undead army? Cause if so....that's definitely something going majorly wrong hah

Thought it was funny he asked for Highgarden lol...

I still assume Gendry is coming back and will be legitimized as a Baratheon and given Storm's End, but no one seems to be talking about how the Stormlands have been leaderless for a long long time haha

I say give him the Twins...tho I guess a Frey Lady will get those

See, I'm still full on Team Dany. Like, war happens, and in war (in the world of the show at least) atrocities seem to happen. I don't really feel much emotion for the Lannister soldiers in this instance. As Jamie told Dickon when he was feeling bad about killing what we're his friends, you kinda have to put emotion to one side for the individual and look at the collective. Just as the Tyrells were traitors in Lannister eyes and had to die because of that, having the Lannister soldiers experience the full force of Danys power was just a thing that happens in war.

What did really get me was Jamie's PTSD thing at the end. He saw around him people burning, experiencing this horrific death, the very thing (or one of them) that he killed Aerys (or Aegon? I get mixed up) for. The pain that Jamie has experienced these last couple of episodes really hits hard.

They've continuously hit on Dany not being like her family and the "dragon has three heads" thing has been mentioned too often to mean nothing. I agree with David. I think they take one down.

Dany telling Jon to bend the knee at the end of the episode kind of solidifies me not being Team Dany. I am team whatever doesn't kill Davos, Brienne, and Sansa.

  23. Yeah but even with all that adversity, if they come out winning and ruling....it still seems too predictable. but idk

Me and friends had an at length discussion about one of the dragons not surviving the battle against the white walkers, and imagined a scene of one of them landing in front of the Night King and his horsemen. The dragon blasts him with fire, and that's all you're seeing for a few seconds until his hand comes through the flames and grabs the dragon by the face. Boom, instantly turned into Blue Eyes White Dragon and Yu-Gi-Oh is the prince that was promised.
