Open rebellion in a time of war does not make torture any less evil. Forcing someone to watch a loved one slowly die in front of them while they are helplessly tied up is inhumane, even if said person is an enemy.
My guess is, this season is going to see the end of the conflict on Westeros with whomever comes out on top of the conflict having a brief moment of respite before the white walkers arrive beyond the wall. I think Dany will come out on top, personally. She'll get the help of Jon Snow. Cersei will fall at the hand of Arya and Jaime will be left to fight next season.
I think the fundamental difference here is you think you can apply our world to theirs. In the context of this universe, Cersei is unquestionably cruel and vengeful but evil? She isn't Ramsey or Euron or Joffrey and she isn't the White Walkers. Ellaria had no reason to and yet her and her daughters strived to murder an innocent girl. THAT is evil.
Arya literally murders an entire family and we cheer but Cersei kills someone who murders children and that's evil.
Cersei is certainly a different kind of evil than Ramsey or Euron or Joffrey. There are redeeming qualities to her. But just because she's not an asshole doesn't mean she can't be evil. Also I never said Ellaria wasn't evil. She certainly has done evil things too.
Wasn't that Joffrey? I remember a pivotal moment when Jaime confronts her about Joffrey and is like "oh shit, you didn't know?" I thought that was the moment.
As far as i know, it was both of them. But either way, Cersei has done more than plenty of evil things
Cersei is a terrible person, without a doubt. But in this instance, there's just no context in which she's evil. Arya murders an entire lineage and that's fine. Sansa ties someone up and feeds him to dogs and that's fine. We draw the line here though? Weird line.
Who said anything about Sansa's and Arya's actions being fine? There is no context in which torture is not an evil act, and her actions tonight were an act of torture
favorite episode so far. Bran's definitely taking a hit mentally with everything he's seeing. the quick cuts of the battle scenes were very well done, imo. no need to waste time on minor battles, we've got bigger fights to get to. jorah heals up quick! I wouldn't be putting a shirt onto that tender flesh so soon. i'm hoping Ebrose loaded up that stack of scrolls with stuff about the long night for Sam to read as he copies it down. next week looks like some stuff is going down.
I wonder what's left for Tyrion. He was completely outsmarted and his plans backfired. Why would Dany keep going with his plans. He served his purpose bringing her and Jon together. I'm starting to think maybe he's next to go
Ok, just throwing it in there, Cersei is more evil because she literally became a terrorist and blew up a church filled with innocent people.
If the Unsullied are defeated at Casterly Rock, Dany needs Jon more than she realizes. I wonder if Jon is able to make it back to Bran before the season's end and find out they're family. I doubt it though considering the previews we saw in trailers.
