Maybe its the Stannis fan in me, but Cersei wasnt even remotely evil this episode. This was the first time all season shes been a person.
Cersei was absolutely evil, imo, but I don't think evil removes personhood. I've always thought she was well-thought out and presented as a character. Most of these characters have committed evil acts, but she definitely transcends to a different level of villainy. But she's always understood.
Before this season started I joked about wanting Cersei to just stay winning, but man, 3 eps in and my cup truly runneth over
Right. That is what makes her an interesting character. Most of the other "evil" characters on the show (Joffery, Ramsey, Euron...) have little to no redeeming qualities to them. They are just there to make you hate them. Cersei is evil, but her motivations are understandable. Cannot deny the dungeon scene isn't evil, but also cannot deny there isn't a part of you who would want to do the same exact thing to someone who killed your daughter.
Also, what are the odds that Euron doesnt just go ahead and kills the rest of the unsullied? I'd say not likely
the first 20 minutes of this episode were so damn good. I loved how antagonistic Jon and Dany were towards one another. Really really good chemistry
This was one of the better written episodes I think they've ever done. At least ones that didn't center around a pivotal event.
I really liked the episode, but i just dont think i like mylod's directing style. There were some really stange cuts/shots that kinda threw me off
I'm a little upset that we won't get anymore Queen of Thorns, but what a fantastic run of scene stealing.
Yeah I spent so much time wondering how they'd tie in the episode title to someone beyond Cersei and I didn't even think of Olena.
There were a few similarities between Jon and Tyrion's initial reunion and the one we saw between Ned and Robert in S1Ep1
Killing an innocent child is evil. Killing the person who did that is not. Especially when that person is in open rebellion against you in a time of war.
This was definitely my least favorite episode of the season so far, but still a really really good one as the pieces to the puzzle continue to come together. It's weird there's only 4 episodes left now.
But she didn't kill the person who did that. She killed the daughter of the person who did that while forcing the mother to watch.
Tyene was absolutely a part of it though and actively supported it. And again, going back to the open rebellion in a time of war thing.
Oh just as a whole through the entire show she is pure evil but it comes out of revenge and everything she's done this season is justified. I love her and want her to win everything.
