I'm not going into got premiers expecting to be blown away but I did enjoy this episode much more than the previous premier. There was a refreshing lack of corny dialogue and I really love the hound's plotline.
Strong episode. Definitely one of my favorites. - that scene with Sam at the Citadel cleaning, preparing food, and working that repeated itself so many times it was funny. - hated to see Jon and Sansa argue with each other in front of everyone, but the last thing they need in the North is the question of who is leading. - the Night's King army is even more terrifying than I remember. But what about those Giant white walkers? Insane. - was that Ed Sheeran at the beginning as a soldier? - I love everyone's wardrobe update. I'm on board with every single one of the new ensembles. - Lyanna Mormont continues to dazzle. - Sansa was right - Jon is good at ruling. - interesting about the Dragon Glass mill under Dragonstone. It makes perfect sense. I've always loved the design of the dragons in the architecture there. Already feel like I need to rewatch it.
Rolled my eyes at Ed. Everything else felt like standard fare Game of Thrones. They've gotta move quick this season.
Definitely felt like the episode started with the high points (Arya launching herself towards the top of the kill leader board, Lady Mormont reminding everyone why she is the best) but rest of the episode was still solid. Should be a wild season.
Premiere was fine, the Hound's scenes were the easily my favorite part of the episode and Arya's opening was a great way to start it off. Some good setup for shit to start to go down in the coming weeks.
