Dorne also has the smallest army (and maybe even population) of the seven kingdoms so idk how the show is going to portray Dorne getting on Dany's side.
Yeah, but they were still able to supply 10,000 troops for the Battle of the Trident...A force that size would instantly double Dany's army.
It's been a while since I've read up on any details like that, but does Dorne still have an army of that size after that battle?
My guess is they'd probably be able to get pretty close to that. It's been I think 22(??) years since that battle, so a whole generation of youngins would be grown and ready for battle now. I'm guessing on 22 years because I think I remember that Robert ruled for 19 years, and it seems to be 2-3 years since the start of the story...right? haha
He doesn't look very happy, and not in his usual miserable bastard way, but more a "oh...shit" way. One of the other pictures is of Edd, and he appears to be looking off in the same direction with a strange look on his face. I don't think Jon is coming back until episode 3 or 4 at the earliest, so my actual guess is they're probably looking at Wun Wun after Edd threatens Thorne with getting pounded into the ground
Spoilers for those who haven't seen the on set pictures during filming: WHEN, not if, Jon comes back, there is a photo of him donning the colors of House Stark. He is also in a snowy environment so I'd assume The North. You can't see his face, but the profile looks like no one else besides Jon, so there's that... My guess is that if Jon comes back, he will take on that of the Lady Stoneheart story, to a certain extent. It might be stupid but wasn't he asked if Jon Snow comes back to the show? He said "no" right? Well what if he only said that because he comes back Jon Stark? So dumb, haha.
That's exactly it. Jon Snow is dead and not coming back. He never lied about that. Though I don't think he's coming back as Jon Stark. But I'm sure you know the theory. I think we are even getting a Tower of Joy flashback scene through Bran's eyes. It's in the trailer so...
I think he comes back as Jon Stark. Mostly because I don't think he'll feel any particular attachment to the Targ name. But I guess that all depends on who brings him back/how he is brought back, and if he is "dubbed" a name by whoever it is.
No way he comes back as a Targeryan or however you spell it. I'm just curious if he comes back zombified or if he comes back like Beric of the Brotherhood of Banners. He'll have the scars but still cognoscente.
okay so i just started this show today. i know, i'm way behind. When Ned Stark tells his daughters they have to go back to Winterfell: Sansa (about Joffrey): "I want to be his queen and have his babies!" Arya: "Seven hells!"
Unfortunately because of the show's popularity certain character deaths have been unavoidable haha but yeah don't worry I haven't been reading the thread. I definitely wish I started this sooner.
They replaced Victarion's character with Yara, correct? If that's the case then maybe she'll head to wherever the dragons are since that was Victarion's original intention.
In 2012, I started watching it and then made it to episode 7 and then never continued. Did the same thing in 2013/2014. Going to try again this year.
Well, why don't you just pick it up on episode 8 if you've already watched 1-7 on three different occasions?
Based on the title of episode three, I bet Jon gets resurrected at the very end of this episode, and then we finally get RLJ confirmation in the next episode. We know for sure there is a Ned/Robert flashback, probably in the form of a Bran vision. Also there is a leaked summary of this upcoming episode out there, I've managed to not look at it. This is the first season where I don't know what's coming so I'm trying to keep some feeling of suspense.
I'm going to agree with you there. Also, In the promo photos for this week, they released a pic of Bran standing in what looks to be Winterfell, so it appears there is a flashback in the episode, but I think it's just Ned, Benjen, and possibly Brandon.
Yeah, I don't think we get The Tower of Joy this episode. I think we get Winterfell, with childhood Ned, Benjen...possibly Robert? Or Brandon....I remember there being rumors of a young Robert being cast but I don't think he ever went to Winterfell as a child, did he? I know he and Ned became close as wards of Jon Arryn, but I don't remember reading much of Robert going to Winterfell
