Some theories on who she might play. Angela Lansbury Joins Game of Thrones Season 7 Cast- Who She'll Play
Does anyone have any recommendations for series (fantasy or sci fi) that are as good as this ? I've read the Dark Tower series as well and really enjoyed that and am looking for something new to dive head first into :) I've heard kingkiller and the expanse but outside of that I got nada.
Gentleman Bastards is quite good. First book is The Lies of Locke Lamora. I believe there are 3 of a scheduled 5 books out so far. Lotus War Series, first of which is Stormdancer. It's a Japanese Steampunk Novel with a female protagonist and an "arashitora" aka a griffin. Full series is apparently out but I haven't gotten around to the third one yet. First two were given to me by a coworker and never looked into the third until just now. Excited to read it.
I haven't read these in a while so I barely even remember them but I remember liking the Icewind Dale/Drizzt stuff by RA Salvatore.
Steven Erikson's Malazan Book of the Fallen series. Be warned, it's massive and complex. But it's the best fantasy series I've ever read, by a long shot. Glen Cook's Black Company series is pretty good, it's kind of a precursor to the whole gritty realist fantasy stuff.
i also like the horus heresy 40k series, it's super expansive but every book is more or less standalone and is based heavily on the fall of lucifer. some of it is pretty good. also, the Shannara series.
Looks I have a lot to dig into. Thanks everyone :) The Horus 40 book series might be a bit out though...just scares me honestly. ha
The actor who plays Gendry was reportedly spotted in Belfast where they are doing some shooting. HYPE
The only stuff the really do there is indoor set work. However they do a lot of on location stuff in surrounding areas so they'll fly into Belfast for that too. Them being in Belfast isn't indicative of what storyline they're shooting either.
Watching Avatar: The Last Airbender today and saw that this season of Game of Thrones took a huge influence from the last season of that show for a certain storyline.
Also, Doran Martell did an interview where he says he's not sure what happened with the Doran storyline and that he was originally contracted for 4 episodes in Season 6. A shame they couldn't spend more time on that story line and at least do it somewhat right, instead of giving up on it completely.
Yeah that pisses me off. He and Hotah went out like chumps to make room for the worst characters in the worst plotline of the show.
So, I'm rewatching and I have a quick question. Why would Bolton have allowed his men to butcher Jaime if he was in cahoots with the Lannisters? And, since he was still feigning allegiance to Cat Stark, why would he let his men mistreat Brienne? If the former allegiance wasn't formalized until after Jaime had his hand cut off, wouldn't Tywin be unwilling to deal with a Lord whose men maimed his son? Or, if it was not yet known, wouldn't that spoil the ongoing patronage?
Also, I realized how unlikely it is that all my favorite characters are still alive: 1. Bronn 2. Olenna 3. The Hound 4. Varys 5. Tyrion
My guess is the deal wasn't quite finalized before hand (rimshot), and after it was I remember Roose telling Jaime to make sure he told his father that Roose had nothing to do with it or something like that. He also probably wasn't too worried because he knew he'd be up at the Twins doing the deed before Jaime made it back. Prob was nervous but also knew he'd be a long way away and on his way home shortly after. As for Brienne, Roose served Robb, not Cat, and he probably didn't care much what Cat thought of his handling of Brienne. They were both traitors as far as the Northmen were concerned. And, of course, Roose knew even if Robb would be upset at him, he was never going to find out anyway...
I seriously love every dialogue scene with Lady Olenna. Her discussion on homosexuality with Tywin in Season 3 is just so perfect.
