The song with Thug is the best by far, I get so pumped when that comes on. I don't dislike any of these songs though after like four listens through.

EDIT: Actually Benjamins Burn might be on the same level.

so far not a lot has jumped out at me until i got to "married to the game," love to hear this kind of production for him and from southside no less! huge shift


gotta be hard for esco to follow up 56 nights, which was technically his release, i guess. but this just feels workmanlike on first listen in a way that i wish it didnt, and something like no sleep at least tapped unknowns like shy glizzy and Bloody jay/thug to kind of forecast 2014 rap. i dunno we'll see if it grows on me but right now this is probably my least fav future-related project in years

The Future Era Is Over

just six months ago they were writing about him being the best rapper alive lol. i dont disagree that i think his stranglehold is more or less over but i do think the assessments of its cause are incorrect.

Man Beast Mode is seriously flawless. Peacoat, Lay Up, and Just Like Bruddas are my fav Future tunes. Re visited that and Pluto the other day, and he's seriously perfected himself on every release.

 

That Stereogum article just seems very clickbaity to be honest. Like, yeah, EVOL
wasn't very good, and I haven't been too enamored off of anything I've heard from Project ET, but this supposed "decline" is based on music he's put out since...March?

Like, come on. Purple Reign is very similar quality-wise to his past three mix tapes. Anyone who is prolific on that scale is going to drop some clunkers every now and again. One or two mediocre projects, and people will look for a reason to write someone off.

 

Except EVOL is real good

 

I love "Lil Haiti Baby" and "Low Life" but nothing else really clicked

Low Life, Lie to Me and Fly Shit Only are the only ones I love from EVOL. I like the tape as a whole, but it's certainly a notch down from his former run of tapes and only has those three that I listen outside the full project. Purple Reign is similar, but the good songs on that are even better. Inside the Mattress is top tier Future track.

 

EVOL is far and away his best project in my eyes, haha

 

Pluto continues to be my fav with DS2 and Honest close behind

 

Monster is my fav, Beast Mode a close 2nd

 

EVOL is fantastic. Smh
