we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

Couldn't find a thread on these guys.

Even though I didn't really want to talk about them, I figured I'd create a thread.

I really wanted to talk about ActionReaction. 3 Is The Magic Number is so goddamn groovy. 2006 was a great year for music.

I remember liking a few songs on that ActionReaction album, but at the time it came out I think a lot of people were bummed it sounded nothing like FSF.

Seems odd to make a thread about a band in order to talk about a completely different band. Why not just make a thread for the band you wanted to talk about?

Anyway, my take on FSF is that I loved the Gleason and Bunch albums way more than anything they did with Carrabba, and Bunch's passing sucks completely. I might listen to these albums tomorrow on my work drive.

  4. I'm still miffed about Penny Black sounding... like this. It contains some of their best stuff, my favorites being Engines and Rescue Trained, but the whole thing sounds off in a The Blackest Beautiful way.

I love this band and still listen to them constantly.

What's funny is Hide Nothing was my least favorite on release but has probably stuck with me the longest and is the one I return to the most. I really love How to Start a Fire.

Also, Penny Black was great but definitely had some issues with the sound of it I remember.

Yeah, the production on Penny Black ruined a pretty solid album.

ha i thought it was just me. that album sounds so fuckin weird. so strange, especially for a band whose first 3 albums sounded really good IMO

I know most of us were like "damn, $75 for a single LP?" but the packaging and materials for the 20th anniversary of The Moon is Down is 10/10.

Yeah, I remember being so disappointed in that release with the songs being as good as they were, for it to be ultimately let down by the production / mixing. Like you said very much The Blackest Beautiful situation.

This 20th anniversary pressing sounds awesome. Absolutely blasting it right now. A perfect album, truly.

Listening to Penny Black again today, and you know what, it's actually a damn good album. Would love to hear more Carrabba FSF someday.

    I do not exist.

Realised we passed the 20 year anniversary of How To Start A Fire earlier this year.

I'm in the minority but that one and Hide Nothing are the ones that I truly love compared to the Carrabba albums.

How to start a fire is one of my favorite albums by any artist. It's perfect.

So many of my logins in 2003 were some variation of xPrideWarx. A wonderful album.

Just got tickets to the California is For Lovers fest and was pleasantly surprised to find out Gleason is singing, obviously would love to see them with Carraba, but I love How to Start a Fire.

Gleason is the man. Anyone know if he has any other active projects?

Got How To Start a Fire on the turntable right now and I truly will never understand how this isn't a more beloved classic.
