i have been to the south and alabama in fact! yes. if the fest was in laurel (home of home town) then maybe we'd be talking.
Laurel… Mississippi? I’m confused. anyway, I live in Birmingham and love it, but also it doesn’t really matter. If you’re in town for the festival, you really don’t leave the grounds. You might walk across the street to get a beer from the brewery, or you might go to a restaurant within walking distance to sit for a minute, but as long as you got a hotel with a comfortable bed, you’re set.
sorry i tend to confuse the two states. i’m just joking, it’s probably awesome. would love to go to the fest. don’t drink alcohol anymore, somehow developed an allergic reaction. sucks.
Look, to be fair, they do tend to say “Thai is the lowest price for tickets” then offer a BOGO or some sort of flash sale a month or two before the fest. Plus, last year there were a ton of people who couldn’t make it/selling their tickets for cheap (I know, because I was one of them). So I think I’ll be holding out for now. I do miss bama though
“wait until the end for the grandest surprise” reads like a line up drop to me (and it would fit when all the others dropped)
sorry I thought you were asking if the full lineup would be revealed through these reveals. Believe it or not there were people commenting “only 25 bands this year?” And then being lame about it
Good on FF for booking some contemporary acts that slap as opposed to resting on their laurels with nostalgia acts.
Yeah this feels like maybe we're leaning a little newer and eclectic this year. Citizen and Rolo Tomassi are big hits for me.
In their first announcement post they said it was "one part then, two parts now" so I think they've basically confirmed this.
