they have tried for AFI the last two years, so pretty sure they will try again? also Missing Link seems like a no brainer for the shed next year.
My initial list: Hotelier, Touché Amore, Joyce Manor, Thrice, Basement, Turnover, TWIABP, Tigers Jaw, Fireworks, Manchester Orchestra, Four Year Strong, Superheaven, Prawn, La Dispute, Balance and Composure, Anxious, Turnstile, Spiritbox, The Callous Daoboys, Greyhaven, Bilmuri, House of Protection, State Faults, Movements, and The Menzingers that’s leaning too much emo/punk and not enough hardcore/metal, but it’s more of a pool of bands I’d like them to consider at main stage and pond.
Honestly them and Spiritbox were my biggest hopes before the lineup was announced. Shaky Knees stole the hog from us I’m pretty sure.
If we're throwing out hopes - I am so baffled that in the 5 years the fest has been back that Finch has not played at all. They've been my main hopeful every year other than The Wonder Years (who also have not played it yet) - so I'll keep those hopes alive if they're gonna keep going. A full run of Drive-Thru bands on a stage one of the days would be incredible - Finch, Early November, Houston Calls, Hidden in Plain View, Something Corporate, The Starting Line. TBS Louder Now 20 is also next year and would make for a great headliner, and I would buy a ticket in a heartbeat if Pianos Become the Teeth were playing at all.
I almost said The Wonder Years or The Story So Far but they seem to stay away from the more straight forward pop-punk bands.
One of my best friends moved to Birmingham this year so maybe next year I'll go. Lineup has to be better than this year's hopefully.
My buddy was like who would you get to headliner and without thinking too hard I said AFI, Rancid, and Turnstile
Bleach live show vinyl just got posted, in case someone wanted a copy that wasn't at Furnace Fest- limited to 100: Bleach - Live/The Lost Show [Limited Edition LP]
The Haywire set looked fun and I saw they did the Title Fight cover. Currently at a headline show for them.
Reddit - The heart of the internet One of the dudes who books furnace fest. He also ran 1981 clothing and works at the smart punk tent at riot, furnace, four chord and the fest. If you’ve been in the scene at all the last two decades you know who he is.
The reason they haven’t announced dates is because they wanna know when aftershock is next year. They spent more on talent flying them from aftershock or to. They would like to avoid that next year. They have sloss booked several weekends anyway due to existing contracts with the country festival
