this band is so ridiculous!!! i never in a million years would have expected them to pull out this specific album, on top of the fact that they have had 12 final shows at this point, but man i am HERE for it!!!
Today is the last WLW in the furnace fb group. They said by the end of the week we will know the entire lineup.
I think those are all new because the poster is updated with all the announcements. I'm still not planning to go, no matter how badly I want to see Spanish Love Songs, but I've also developed more FOMO than expected.
Is anybody interested in my SUNDAY only ticket? Turns out I can't get off of work that day. $100 even. If nobody here wants it I'll put it on Stubhub in a few days or something IDK.
As someone who went four years in a row, there just wasn’t enough on this lineup to move the needle for me. Despite also recognizing how strong this lineup is for many people.
The lineup is much less versatile this year and more hardcore oriented. Not surprising. I found maybe 7 or 8 bands I would actually want to see there which is crazy to me.
If Jimmy and Spanish were on Saturday, I would’ve probably done a single day ticket and forced @Micah511 to let me sleep on his couch.
lol you def could. Saturday is quite a bummer for me, Anberlin being really the only thing I want to see. Might end up with just Friday and Sunday tickets at this rate.
My honest thoughts: they announced last year as the last one. If they wanted to bring it back, they should have waited another year. Say something like, "we didn't realize how much we'd miss a fall without you". I honestly think it would reset the artists that would play, and it'd feel more genuine.
Yeah, and I'm worried it'll go out on a whimper instead of how triumphant it felt after the Underoath set last year. EDIT: it might be under attended, but there's actually no way that happens, since I assume the last thing that will happen is the wall of death during Knocked Loose's set
i knew it was selling poorly when i checked and saw that the parking was still available months after being announced. i will be devastated if they cancel it completely. i look forward to this fest all year. the atmosphere is unlike any other i’ve attended. with that being said, 2022 felt so empty, i was shocked it returned after that. it led to easy barricade access, but it was kind of a bummer even then, attending the fest and there not really being much buzz compared to the year prior.
If you do end up wanting to go on the Sunday please buy my Sunday ticket lol. I'll transfer. I'll "cut you a very good deal". I agree they should have had an off year in between the "last year" and a rebirth year. Friday the only bands I would want to see are JEW and Drain. Speed? Maybe? Saturday would be Anberlin, and Zao. Big Ass Truck and Orthodox would be fun. Sunday has KL, Horse, Norma, Emery, Converge, Dillinger, Many Eyes(I guess), Sangeissugabog(I cannot be bothered to spell it right), and Tony Danza would be fun. So, that's why I only bought for Sunday. I just don't see the draw on the other days honestlly. Like, for anybody. I'd find acts to watch and have a good time for sure I guarantee that. But the rest of the acts just dont appeal to me or I never got into them. So, I get it.
So I spent a lot of time thinking about this yesterday, cause besides Hellfest 2004, Furnace Fest last year was the best festival experience of my life. I’m going again, bought tickets solely on trying to recapture that magic. Although I think the lineup is stacked. We all had this discussion in 2022 when it was apparent it wasn’t selling well. That lineup just didn’t have a lot for people to travel for. I think with these fests, things need to be special attractions. What’s the biggest reunion on this lineup? Tony Danza? Secrets and Whispers? I wouldn’t even consider Dillinger a reunion anymore, they have brought this thing all over the world over the past two years and it’s apparent to most that Dimitri doesn’t have it anymore. Also let’s not pretend like the country is in a good place financially, and spending around a grand total to see a lot of bands who tour regularly throughout the year. I hope it doesn’t get canceled, I’m really excited. But after thinking about it I’m not surprised that this lineup didn’t capture the travel fan, after last years high note.
I loved 2022, but it was definitely more sparsely attended. This year’s lineup just doesn’t offer much that you can’t find in regional hardcore/Danny Wimmer festival side stages. I see the vision and overall cohesion. But like. Who booked The Rocket Summer on Sunday?! No one else on that day has a Venn diagram overlap in fanbases.
