Just shows how subjective taste is because Coalesce is probably my favorite announcement so far. What bands are you two hoping for?
not something i was hoping for but im not mad about it? i feel like thats my opinion on all these drops so far, but then i also have to start to realize that if that is my continuous opinion, it could become a problem eventually.
I mean I like all of the other eight announced and am def more of a Metalcore/hardcore/death guy but I don’t want to like everyone, will make the conflicts tough
For me there’s always been a heavy hitter in the first couple announcements. Not this year cause a few of these are repeats. I’m not complaining!!! This is still my favorite fest and I’m going regardless.
I really am happy for people who want to see that band but I personally never heard of them. I am all for reunions and rare sets, no matter what genre. Personally I am hoping for more Emo stuff (Emery, Anberlin, FSF) and stuff like Across Five Aprils and Dead Poetic. I am not worried a bit for the lineup, I know that there's going to be many bands I'm not familiar with but I am sure that there's going to be enough for me to make the trip.
Brendan from Bleeding Through said they are gonna tour hard later this year when the new album comes out. Has to mean they are playing this right?
Based on the tour with Primus, we can probably count Coheed out as a headliner. Them and Rise Against are the two biggest remaining bands from the OG four years that hadn't played that I noticed. Feel like DEP is becoming a lock with them appearing on that other fest yesterday. Quite a few bands on Louder than Life the weekend before seem pretty likely since they're not competing weekends anymore (only a few overlaps last year).
coheed actually specifically isn’t playing the Birmingham date, so I’d actually think they are playing furnace fest. I also think AFI is a headliner, they are apparently the most requested act from the polls that haven’t played. The promoters said early on that they made the offer and they didn’t say no and haven’t mentioned them ever again and didn’t have them listed on a termination Tuesday. So I think they are gonna end up being a headliner too.
I completely missed that little symbol when I glanced at that poster; nice catch. After seeing the Four Chord line-up, I was curious if A Day To Remember or Something Corporate might sneak in as a headliner, too.
I think we’re at 11 total bands and each year has been 99, right? Plenty of time for a ton of favorites to be added.
