It was really lovely. Super laid back. Played 7 of TWE, To Whom It May Concern!, Anne Marie (first time ever, maybe) after a crowd question about it, Everlong, Party Song, ISSWS, and Studying Politics. Stories were fun. Got my vinyl signed.
Is it the Songs & Stories thing that they are doing? I went to 3 of those, it's always a pleasure. Emery is the only band where I would go to their show and they would approach me to say "hi". Some of the nicest guys.
For those of you who are concerned with the hotel pricing increase this year, what exactly were you booking in previous years and what types of amenities do you look for in booking a hotel? I am curious because I'm having no trouble at all finding hotels that offer the things I'm looking for at rates that feel like I am getting a really good deal on... all within a 15 minute drive from the furnaces.
I went in 2021, the price has almost doubled now. I think I will just get something that is like 20-30 minutes away to save. I'm renting a car anyway.
The same hotel I stayed at in 21-23 is $100 more a night than last year last I checked. Hampton Inn in Irondale, so nothing fancy by any means.
That's insane. I wonder if it's just for those festival dates or if it's a permanent raise. I might just end up renting a campervan and sleep there.
I found one in my price range a little further out. But I think it’s just the hotel market right now. I’ve noticed it for most I’ve been trying to book lately. I think there is a group that camp for this somewhere in the Facebook group.
maybe it’s just the trash hotels i am comfortable booking, but i’m actually saving $80 year over year on my hotel. and i found multiple others in the same general price range that also weren’t too far from furnace. im paying roughly $120/night.
I always chuckle seeing people turn down hotels because they are "dirty and outdated" but then they go out to the fest, covered in thousands of other people's DNA. I just need a bed and a shower and I'm good. I'm not planning on doing anything really in the hotel but sleep. When I was there for 2021 I booked a hotel that all the locals were warning against taking and I had no issues at all (I am pretty thick skinned about these things, though).
I think the concern with folks and cleanliness of a hotel, is if it’s dirty and they aren’t changing things often there are concerns about bugs, etc
From what I have seen it's either that or "shady areas". I would admit that my standards are pretty low but I would still rather pay 20 bucks more per night than sleep in a Motel 6.
I saw that if you do the pricebreaker thing in Priceline you get one out of 3 hotels for like 70-ish dollars a night. All of them are regularly priced at 130-150 per night. When you rent a car the distance becomes less of an issue.
Damn, that's a shame. I was hoping for Extol, Azusa, and Dillinger Escape Plan since they share members.
They are sharing “where’s the lineup?” Posts again so I assume we get something more in the next week or two?
i don’t understand what they’re waiting on.. announcing 4 per month seems really weird to me. if you’re doing such a slow rollout, at least make it engaging and do like one or two a week every week.
From A Second Story Window are releasing new music for the first in forever this week. I wouldn't be surprised if they make it to the fest as well.
