On top of all the good repeats from the last four years, because besides 2022 I feel like they really nailed every single lineup every day. Feel like there’s a lot of room for adjacent bands to this scene like Spanish Love Songs Barely Civil ManDancing The Wonder Years The Dangerous Summer Waking Ashland La Dispute Definitely bring back these “new bloods” Spiritbox Casey Koyo
It’s crazy how many people in the community are asking for Spiritbox, like at this point they would need to be a day headliner right?
it’s interesting because the fans didn’t really show out for Spiritbox a couple years ago when they were on the lineup card. i know they’re much bigger now, but on both sides of the coin- FF and Spiritbox ends, it felt like there wasn’t a ton of benefit before… how much different will it be now? i do think FF did a really good job in 2024 with the modern / legacy metalcore/active rock artists. that was super lacking in 2023 imo. i would be happy to see them bring in some more UNFD/Sharptone type of artists- namely Like Moths to Flames, Alpha Wolf, Boston Manor, Polaris, Currents, Emmure, etc. additionally, artists like Boundaries, Kaonashi, Distinguisher, Johnny Booth, Fox Lake, Mugshot… feels like there’s a good appetite at furnace for the Orthodox/No Cure ass beating type artists and some of these have done tours with them or just kinda rule. i’d love for Furnace to go after an artist like Park as like a rarity/reunion type of thing. maybe Dead Poetic, Recover, Gatsby’s American Dream, The Chariot, The Receiving End of Sirens- even just The Dear Hunter would be cool. as always, one of END or Counterparts should be on it bc duh. in terms of headliner level artists- maybe jump on the Knocked Loose bandwagon again as they continue their ascension? it’s so hard to think of actual headliner level artists because i would have never anticipated Thrice would headline the fest, for example.
Circa Survive x1000 Fear Before Memorydrip Bear vs Shark Gatsbys American Dream Receiving End of Sirens (might as well throw in The Dear Hunter) mewithoutyou Hot Mulligan La Dispute Touche Amore Straylight Run Pinkshift Sweet Pill Pool Kids Illuminati Hotties Jeff Rosenstock Joyce Manor A Lot Like Birds Origami Angel Prince Daddy and the Hyena
I feel like they will try AFI again, Knocked Loose was my other no brainer headliner and then yea Spiritbox or Killswitch or Taking Back Sunday as that third one
2023 also did said bands but yeah 2024 definitely took it to another level. Hell, the whole revival has been a love letter to the good days.
I’ve been listening to I Am Hollywood at the gym this morning and reliving that set. Such a perfect moment.
was sitting next to my childhood best friend who I hadn’t seen in 8 years. He is 3 years older than me and showed me all this music when we were kids. When they played China white, I wept because it was one of the most full circle moments I’ve ever had. Truly magical.
conversely, one of my favorite parts of the entire album (the miracles part of China white) was replaced with Like A Prayer and I was having an existential should I laugh or should I cry moments at the exact same time.
I took a couple of quick phone videos of that set and looking back it captures the energy pretty good. That album was never defining for me, but def one I liked a lot. Glad I got to see it in full at prob the coolest place to do it at.
I'm a weirdo who vastly prefers their later albums to I Am Hollywood, but it was a cool experience regardless.
