the furnace fest community group. The organizers are very honest and up front, and AFI was one of the more requested bands on their he wishlist fill out they had. They said they contacted AFI and they didn’t say no.
Two of the three headliners being Underoath and AFI is probably enough to get me to pull the trigger again. I've been holding off on tickets because money is weird, but they won't get any cheaper than now... haha
Trying to talk myself into buying the ticket today. Not a bad price. Just have a very busy fall and with the date change not sure how it all fits.
Sooo Dillinger is absolutely one of the headliners right? I don’t need to try and get to Brooklyn for this?
They definitely seem to think DEP (and Botch) are playing in the Facebook group. @peoplearepoison might've heard something from a little bird. Are DEP without Greg still DEP? I legit ask, because I was never much of a listener and only saw them once with Greg.
I mean calculating infinity was literally genre changing and considered one of the great metal albums of all time. So I would think so.
@Supernova - are you coming back to FF this year? Related, know any good running spots in Birmingham? Some idiot I know (ie, me) technically needs to run 18-20 miles the Sunday of the fest this year because of when his marathon falls and the taper starts the next week.
Heyy! Once I see the line up I'll know more. I want to make it back for the final year. FOMO every time for me except the one Friday I went year 1. (ETID FF '21 probably my fav show PERIOD). Red Mountain park! Free access. Closed trails and service roads. Several miles of "flatish" long dirt roads and you can link some flowing single track trails. A lot of cool, sold iron ore mining shafts, buildings, equipment and the like to see all over in there. 20 min or less drive from Sloss. Oak Mountain State Park. $5 entry. Massive amount of trails and a lot of road with bike likes to run in across the whole park. Can find a lot of flat stuff as well a pretty lakes, and climbs out there that are truly, truly.....truly steep and gnarly. 30 min drive from Sloss. All the city running you can stomach, but I do not know good routes. However there is a fairly long paved green way that connects to Sloss and goes on for miles toward the city. I can be way more specific as we get closer!
This is good info! There's a seemingly good system of Greenway too that goes right by the furnaces. I just ran on random roads last year with the botanical gardens and my destination. They're pretty beautiful and you can run through some trails in there for free.
Poison the Well in the shed? This line-up must be nuts. They had a monster of a main stage crowd in 22
Yeah that’s going to go off for sure. Always love to see shai hulud playing. One of my favorites from the era
Anyone else noticed that hotels are much higher priced this year? My usual is currently showing rooms at $70 more a night than I've paid the last few years.
I talked with the Skycamefalling guys last night. They said they are “talking” to Furnace and are hoping to play.
