This is absolutely stupid. A. Yes the hearing damage from being upfront. B. Isn't that what VIP tickets are? C. just chill in the back. I watched Turnstile with my then 2.5 year old last year, from the very back where we were posted up with chairs, his wagon, snacks, etc. I have no idea why you'd want to deal with all that as close to the stage as possible. Either go without your kids and go to the front, or learn that bringing kids to concerts means you'll have to compromise your concert experience compared to how you've done it in the past.
If you go to a hardcore show with a child and you stand in front then someone better call CPS on you. I am not a mosher but I know enough not to fuck with the way things work at these shows, even if I am not a fan of that way.
you know 100% why these people are asking for this…entitled….everything you said is 100% the reasonable answers, having kids is give and take.
I have been thinking about this these past days, besides the ear damage and the danger with moshing, surfers and divers, security needs the space at the front to take people out if there is an emergency (I remember all the people being pulled out during MCR at Riot Fest), having kids at the front and something happens will only make things worse
It especially doesn't make sense at Furnace Fest. The way the shed is slanted, your view isn't obscured the farther back you go. The pond stage is tall enough and you can go stand by the railing and have a great view. The main stage is tall enough where you can see it from the food vendors in the back. It really is just entitled people thinking since they have a kid they should get a golden pass. I'm just thankful they can tag along for free.
1) What songs are you voting for from Underoath? 2) I've been all the last 3 years, and will be bringing my kids this year (ages 9 and 5). We will decidedly NOT be in the front. Why anyone do that? 3) This will at least be there first time I see Coheed where they don't close with Welcome Home...
Out of curiosity, do they have pre-Spencer songs you can vote on or is it a blank fill in thing? Almost certainly not able to go, but I want to know how much fomo I should be expecting.
I did In Regards to Myself (I know..., but it's a ripper), Returning Empty Handed, The Only Survivor Was Miraculously Unharmed, Unsound, In Motion, and Thorn. When the Sun Sleeps is the only pre-Spencer option.
I’ll admit that I did some singles too, I mean they are playing all of chasing safety. And those big songs always rip live.
One of my biggest concert regrets was not seeing good apollo neverender. GAIV is my favorite album of all time. I'm on cloud 9.
Ok, anyone want to give some recommendations of bands I should check out before the festival? Here are the bands I plan to catch: Silverstein, Better Lovers, Emery, He is Legend, Michael Cera Palin, Coheed, Saosin, Be Well, The Fall of Troy, Hail the Sun, L.S. Dunes, Underoath, Anxious, Boys Night Out, Drug Church, The Early November
We still have 2 more bands to be announced, right? Maybe one of the is A Static Lullaby? They are having their reunion show in 2 weeks, maybe they are waiting for it to be done so they can announce FF?
