it was posted in the community, the shed will be heavy (obviously known already) and the pond will be exclusively emo and punk. They originally debated about having a third stage, but started booking it later than the other two, which is why you haven’t had a lot from those genres. Which to me says the lighter bands announced so far are all the main stage.
Agreed. This might be the only festival I've ever seen to announce half the lineup and hold the rest back for no stated reason (someone said they're still booking bands? uh lol). Which sucks for people like me, out of state, who bought a ticket during the early-bird round and are trying to make a decision about whether to commit to booking hotels/flights...the group I'm planning to go with are all ready to book stuff and I'm the hold-up cuz they announced basically all the bands I don't listen to. /end rant
I agree about the pond, some of my favorite sets from the past years have been there. Last year Will Haven and Teenage Wrist were strong highlights
don’t understand this festival sometimes… last year they planned to shorten friday to a shed bash and then decided to make it a full day. this year they planned to remove the pond stage??? like cmon that would have been such a bummer to do for the last year of existence. glad they caved.
Having worked in the planning stages of a festival, it often comes down to money. I'm pretty sure they lost money on 2022 and maybe broke even on 2023.
I think it had to do with money, once they sold enough tickets they knew they could grab more artists. They aren’t looking to make money just have a great time and cover their expenses. So I think last year once they realized ticket sales were good they expanded the day. With this year they realized they had enough money to book a pond stage.
Yeah it felt like they took a hit in 2022. Substantially less people than 2021. I feel 2023 they finally cracked the code, so I’m expecting this years to be the best yet (but I don’t want to jinx it)
A lot of people recommended The Wonder Years as a Pond Stage headliner on FB/IG, would absolutely be tempted by that.
Get them and Tigers Jaw for the pond stage!!!!!!!! TJ and Boysnightout have been my top two Furnace requests from the jump
Yeah if they could cater to my 2010-2015 tastes with that stage I would be ecstatic. Something in the PBTT, La Dispute, Foxing, Turnover, Tigers Jaw, Balance and Composure, The Wonder Years, Fireworks, Have Mercy, Joyce Manor, maybe even The Dangerous Summer if they convinced them to do an album playthrough for one of the first two albums.
originally came here to wonder if Coheed will play Good Apollo in full since this is a few weeks before WWWY fest. I hope they do.
We are getting a band today right? It’s been the last few Wednesdays but they never say whether we are or not?
