third year in a row staying here. it’s such an easy drive to the venue. last year a bunch of like teenage dirt bikers were staying there and listening to them talk about their races at breakfast was pretty fun.
Yeah Irondale is a great gateway to downtown. I-20 is not usually that crowded even on work days, and that area is pretty quiet as far as sketchy stuff going on. Close to airport as well.
has anyone ever volunteered to get access? I know the shifts are 5.5 to 6 hours but are you working that whole time? could i volunteer for saturday and get free entry to sunday?
Friday: Slow Pulse, Alcoa Sunday: Koyo, Valleyheart, Chasing Victory (or Defeater, also great, but not a reunion)
My Saturday lineup: Mindforce, Zulu, Drain, High Vis, MSPAINT, Militarie Gun, Saosin, Thursday, Gorilla Biscuits, Turnstile.
I hope everyone has fun this year! Hopefully I can go next year. And that sucks about Extol, I would have been devastated if I was able to go and they had dropped. Hopefully whoever wants to see them gets a chance soon.
I’m driving down Friday morning from Knoxville. Hoping my hotel lets me check in early again. Hoping to be at the festival by 11:15/11:30. Between Slow Pulse and The Undertaking, I can finally have more of that blissful tastiness of the brisket banh mi fries from Pho Cue. Friday: Slow Pulse The Undertaking Alcoa (partial) Showbread Project 86 idk any of these three at 4:45 that well Throwdown (partial) Hopesfall (partial) Relient K (partial) Norma Jean Anberlin Hatebreed (partial) MxPx
WATCH HIGH VIS I saw them last night and they were amazing. Only played to about 50 people but they put on one of the best shows I've seen in years (and I go to 100s of shows a year). Mark my words, this band is gonna blow up.
Just flew into Birmingham and I'm at my hotel in Fultondale! Hitting up the art museum and Post Office Pies tomorrow and miiiight squeeze in a movie or that Free Throw show, but more than likely just going to get some sleep. Hope y'all have safe travels!
Drain into High Vis into Militarie Gun into Trash Talk into Terror is going to destroy me but God I'm so excited for it
Definitely going to be a “pace yourself and stay hydrated” weekend. First year I’m staying the whole day on Sunday.
