Recommendations for transportation? I'm staying at the Holiday Inn in Fultondale and was planning on just doing Lyfts each day. Also would love recommendations on museums or things to do on Thursday (outside of the preshows).
It’s extremely easy to get free street parking near the venue (I was within 3-4 blocks each day), if you are driving in. Otherwise, I think Lyft/Uber is the way to go. There’s no public option from what I understand. I’m at the Hampton Inn in Irondale
i did it 2 years ago and rented a car, I just parked in the city and then walked like 10 minutes to the site. Shouldn't be too much of a problem doing rideshares in that area. You can always walk a few minutes to the area with the coffee shops and try from there.
It's probably best to do your ride share to Ghost Train Brewing and walking a few blocks. They block off a few roads closer to Sloss and I'm sure the drivers find it annoying.
Staying at the Microtel in Gardendale. My friend and I have a rental car booked cause we loooooove that freedom, baby
Hopesfall - The Satellite Years Braid - Frame & Canvas Throwdown - Haymaker (I think? Not 100% sure) Thursday - War All the Time Further Seems Forever - How to Start a Fire Mae - Destination: Beautiful
Feel like I should mention it just in case you haven’t gone before, but if you’re a contact wearer, bring your glasses, case, and solution with you all three days. The dust got so bad by the end of each day I had to take mine out Friday and Saturday around 6pm and just straight up wore my glasses on Sunday. They were working on laying more grass, but I have my doubts.
Only time I've been to Birmingham was a quick down and back from Nashville for TWY / Letlive / TMP / Microwave so excited to have Friday night to explore a little bit. Got reservations at Automatic and then probably swinging out to Mom's Basement for a nightcap.
Flying out of Detroit tonight at 8 PM tonight, looking forward to exploring Birmingham a little tomorrow!
Good call. I always stress about that, but forget how lax bham is with street parking. Also dont mind walking. See yall there! those of you coming in to bham early, let me know if you need some suggestions of cool things to do.
