I don’t think they really care to hide it but they’re basically modern day Opposite of December era PTW. Caught them on the CP tour and they had much better stage presence and performance than a lot of heavy bands that stand around too much.
Friday 1. Vein.fm 2. Hatebreed 3. MxPx 4. Relient K 5. Walls of Jericho Saturday 1. Turnstile 2. Trash Talk 3. Enter Shikari 4. Gorilla Biscuits 5. Drain Sunday 1. Bane 2. Militarie Gun 3. Defeater 4. Bouncing Souls 5. Judge
Has Drowningman always been terrible live? I’m at decibel Metalfest right now and they are awkwardly horrible.
late to the party, but i hope to be there sunday primarily for the return of it dies today. def checkin out better lovers now that they’re added and maybe get into a few bands that are new to me. with that said, i ordered the ‘caitiff’ vinyl from revolver and it sold out. hopefully ‘sirens’ is released on vinyl soon.
They are letting people submit the nominations for who will replace Loathe. Has to be either a local gaining steam or a very very small up and coming National. I submitted Enox
I wish someone would take my pass off my hands for this. On stubhub for way cheaper than face value but no bites!
there are only like 3 bands on Sunday outside of CV that I want to see so not sure if it’s worth it but damn do I wanna see them. Hoping they play one of the pre shows.
I don't know how Fiends didn't catapult them to scene stardom. I get it was a different follow up, but such a good album and one of my favorite nostalgia spins and it was so good hearing some of those songs live when they first came out. Not able to make it out to FF but I'm jealous of those who are and especially those that will catch this set.
One of the pre shows will have Advent, they “leaked” on Threads. Iron City will be a heavy show (where Advent is on the line-up) and Saturn will be pop-punk/emo.
Regarding Fiends, I think it was the classic situation in that era where less screaming = bad = selling out etc etc. The same could be said for Dead Poetic’s Vices, Far-less’ A Toast To Bad Taste and so many other records in that 2004-2009 bracket, whereas now I think such transitions would be more readily accepted, if not automatically appreciated where such quality exists.
Yeah definitely. Love that record now. Enjoyed it at the time but preferred No Sir back then. Hopesfall’s A-Types as well (although I did a discography listen earlier this year and it’s not their best really).
sometimes I think about how they referenced William s Burroughs in their main single on that record on a full on Christian album. Having read that book now, that’s crazy
Madball, Jesus Piece, Creeping Death, Advent, and Wounded Touch is the official one at Iron City; Free Throw, Camping in Alaska, Whitsett, Glimmers, and Elowel is the other at Saturn, put on by the FFC community.
