Caught half of ManOrch, a couple Blindside, but I’m so beat I’m tapping out early. Last night going so late got me good.

 

I was standing right next to you during Maylene and their setup. Thought of saying hi but too introverted and wasn’t up for small talk lol.

 

White shirt, before the couple moved next to me? I thought I saw someone “recognize” me. I’m very not intimidating if you see me tomorrow. But I also get not wanting small talk.

 

I was wearing a yellow Orchid shirt. At first I was standing directly to your left and then a couple showed up and there was a girl next to you and I got pushed to the side of the rail instead of directly behind it.

I opened up Chorus when they were setting up and saw your comment about the shed running late and was like “oh yeah, orange hat” and looked around and then realized you were right next to me lol.

Maybe I’ll say hi tomorrow :D

 

I almost talked to you at one point before that couple showed up. I don’t know what I was going to say or why, but I think it’s because I spent almost the entire day not talking to anyone.

Definitely do! Though, may not be wearing the hat. Tomorrow my day is kinda short: Comeback Kid, Spiritbox, and Four Year Strong (and maybe not all of them). 5am on Monday comes fast.

 

Yesterday was tons of fun. Maylene ripped. Loved the back to back Squad Five O and Five Iron Frenzy. Manchester sounded massive as always, but the crowd felt completely dead. I was dead center like 4 back and it seemed like nobody around me had even heard the band before.

It seemed like all the stages throughout the day had audio issues and delays caused by audio issues. I don’t remember that at all from last year-I wonder if it’s a different production company.

 

I need some place to rant about that, and since it involves FF, I’m doing it here.

I heard the blindside line for merch was massive all day, and to the point of someone waiting for 4 hours. Idk how quickly but the vinyl obviously sold out quick.

Here’s my issue: by the time they played, that record had already been sold 3 times on Discogs for 3x the price. Fuck. You. Fuck you for taking advantage of their fans, and potentially other FF attendees from getting their hands on one.

Also: to hell with Spartan records. Friday night they had a Mae vinyl for $50. I was like ehhhhh can’t really justify it, but let me sit in it for the night. Went back last night and they said “oh it’s $80 now”. That’s unacceptable.

The whole point of this fest is about community and people being there for one another, and these are unfortunately two prime examples of people fucking over fans. Only issues I’ve had so far.

 

The preserving hardcore guys really don’t like a lot of the other vinyl vendors for stuff like that. I found both Untitled released by mewithoutYou there at normal pressing price. I’d check to see if they have something.

 

I’ll definitely stop by their tent today, cause I wanna support vendors like that, and smartpunk, who truly care and want fans to have their hands on these records first.

 

Had anyone gone by Seasick Records? I was thinking of swinging by before heading down today.

Yeah, I think unfortunately there wasn’t a limit on how many blindside records you could get and I think people took advantage of that a bit.

 

Seasick? More like SoSick. (I love that place)

 

It’s a new trend where merch is more important than seeing the actual bands. A lot of it started with Gulch. It’s especially dominant in the hardcore scene but I’m sure has leeched it’s way into others.

 

This absolutely sucks. The fest brings some really cool bands that get together once a year if that and you don’t want it documented? Oof
