Fear Before The March of Flames would probably be the reunion that would get me the most stoked outside of The Chariot
I feel like there will be fewer reunions than last year, but there will still be some. Wouldn’t be surprised if they save the reunion acts and at least 1 headliner for a later announcement
I know they’ve come back like 1000 times after saying they are done but I think this time they are DONE DONE DONE
That wasn’t the vibe I got from the drummer just after the festival, but this would make me so sad. Scream Through The Walls is too good to not have a real tour/appreciation.
yeah Aaron is the driving force around the band. He wants it to keep going but Cody is the one that is always hesitant. It’s basically just convincing Cody they could do it. Totally agree about STTW
So funny enough at Tid The Season one night I was out at the bars and Goose and Steve from ETID were at the bar. I ended up having a very long conversation with both of them about everything and anything. Anyways, we talked about The Chariot and Steve told me that Scogin told him that Furnace had offered him a “fuck ton of money” to reunite the Chariot for Furnace ‘21 and Scogin turned it down. Scogin told Steve he has “no interest reuniting Chariot and doesn’t want to live in the past.” And when talking to Goose about a Fear Before The March of Flames reunion he said he is 100% for it but the rest of the guys have no interest in doing it at all.
As far as early/mid-2000s emo/post-hardcore, I could definitely see Armor For Sleep, Thrice, and Senses Fail all jumping at the opportunity to do this. Would be very dope if The Used played their first record too. And not counting on it, but would be crazy if they got From First To Last with Sonny.
Was just asked by one of the promoters to give my wishlist of old tooth and nail and solid state bands. Here is what I gave him Anberlin Copeland Aaron sprinkle Fair Ace troubleshooter Bleach The deadlines Far-less FRODUS Holland The lonely hearts Ivoryline JONEZETTA Queens club Side walk slam TWOTHIRTYEIGHT Watashi wa Waking Ashland Solid state: Advent Blindside Haste the day Life in your way Self minded Society’s finest SPITFIRE Trenches
Major fingers crossed for Advent. And hot take, but I never got into the post-Jimmy Ryan Haste The Day stuff, so would LOVE if he was in on that. I bet we're definitely gonna see some iteration of Haste The Day on this lineup.
Paramore (probably too big), Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessional, Manchester Orchestra, Coheed & Cambria, Thrice, Circa Survive, Saosin, Senses Fail, Chiodos (or DRUGS), The Wonder Years, New Found Glory, and The Starting Line are some bigger names I see fitting in the line-up who didn’t play this last year they could be going after. Then you get into bands like Dance Gavin Dance, Trophy Scars, Haste the Day, The Chariot, I will hold this hope, Bayside, MxPx, Story of the Year, Straylight Run, hellogoodbye, Simple Plan, Sum 41, The Maine, Armor for Sleep, your pick of the old Tooth and Nail/Solid State line-ups... If all the lineup drops from last year are coming back, that’s mewithoutYou, ‘68, Copeland, Andrew WK, Hatebreed, Counterparts, Life in Your Way, Poison the Well, Open Hand, Misery Signals, Light the Torch, As Friends Rust, and Bury Your Dead. (There might be a couple others I missed.) We can probably assume Norma Jean and Remembering Never will be moved from opening night party to main festival bill this time around (and conversely, maybe count out Every Time I Die if the "Norma Jean" clause rumor is true). With just those names in the mix, it'd be a wild weekend if you assume 40-60% of last year's line-up will also come back. I think Spiritbox will definitely be a band they go for in the "new blood" (so to speak) spots. I'd love to see Spanish Love Songs, Barely Civil, The Dangerous Summer... Then you have the joke from the Emery podcast where they said "you have the unholy trio of bands that should've been there... but won't be for good reason" or something like that in Brand New, As I Lay Dying, and Saves the Day. I think the promoters are far too smart to open that can of worms. Makes me wonder about All Time Low now being added to this list of "they'd fit, but no." I feel like FF is more aware than Bonnaroo which just booked them, but who knows.
attack of the wolf king I think is low key maybe their best album. It’s def the best Stephen Keech stuff.
I think we’re getting the first wave of the line-up on February 1st. One of the promoters joked about “today I learned that band CAN post admats on the day of a line-up drop” and followed it up with “I hope they keep that energy on February 1st.” When I saw that festival lineup drop yesterday, I definitely thought there would be a fair amount of crossover.
Yeah, I was hoping it would be this week but no way they will be dropping it now, it's going to be overshadowed by the WWWYF news.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Beloved (and a few similar reunions from last year) on the lineup again.
