I am flying to this (saturday only) for elliott. holy shit what a dream come true. I remember hearing calm americans and drive onto me for the first time when I was 15, nearly a decade ago. don’t go to shows anymore really but SDRE reunion, appleseed cast, cursive, the spill canvas,… it’ll be so fun
At the mewithoutYou farewell tour in Atlanta tonight with ‘68 opening Josh Scogin came out and they did Aaron’s part of Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste and I didn’t think I would ever see that and it was quite the experience.
Considering I missed both Unearth and Evergreen Terrace last year, due to my intense anxiety about the shed, I will absolutely be there
I’m so curious to see with how other tests are selling poorly if FF does well. They are starting to give more ticket deals which I don’t think is a good sign
I get why they did it (and respect it), but I think not rebooking 40-50% of last year’s undercard is a big reason here if they’re not selling as well. I know at least four folks not going this year who went last just because the billing isn’t “as good.”
I went last year and I'm not going this year, if there's any way anyone wants to use me for their discount let me know and I'll see if I can help. Edit: I see now there is a promo code in the email... If anyone wants it DM me and I'll send it over, I'm not sure if you can use it more than once. Edit 2: It's just a generic code so here it is "FFSTIMMY". Supplies are limited and it should work until July 21st.
I mean it obviously isn’t, but hopefully not bad enough that they don’t come back next year. The lineup just isn’t as special this year and a lot of the bands on it tour regularly which isn’t gonna draw right now given the current economy and prices of everything.
Mostly joking, but it would be nice to not have to wait an hour for food each time if the crowds are smaller.
This year's lineup is weaker than last year's and there are much more alternatives this year. last year was a week after Riot Fest which many people think would not happen because of COVID up until 2-3 months before the event.
Last year was absolutely incredible. It was a ton of peoples first show back, captured nostalgia bands from so many different genres, and had incredible new blood up up and down the lineup. This year has some great stuff but somethings missing. I attended last year had plans with the same people this and we all kinda went Meh at the lineup.
To be honest, their target market should always be the bands associated with the Tooth & Nail scene and then other bands sprinkled in. Feels like they started with the other bands this time and there’s not enough nostalgia from that subculture. If they’d started with something like the Blindside announcement first like they did with Beloved and then built up from there there would be a lot more hype I reckon.
I want VIP, but I really don’t want to pay for it. Don’t have anyone splitting hotel/gas/parking with me this time around.
They're teasing an announcement (not a band, not set times) tomorrow (8/17) at noon eastern in the Facebook group.
