I will live vicariously through this thread as I booked for the other fest in vegas and while I'm just a short drive from Birmingham, I don't think I can justify both. For the non obvious bands, if I was going I'd be pretty pumped for bleeding through, hipv, Maylene (surprised Dallas can go perform after his accident? That's a great recovery if so), my children my bride and misery signals. Those are all bands I don't know I'd get the chance, or stay in the know enough to see outside of this. I'll be honest, there's a lot on here I'm not familiar with.
I’ve scheduled my PTO for this so that if a good Thursday night preparty is booked, I can go. But budget wise it would be cool if I could wait until Friday morning to drive down.
I’d love to see like an old school tooth and nail kick off night with Emery, Anberlin, and like Jonezetta.
SpiritBox and Gojira added on Sunday Ridic, what else have they not announced yet? This is just such a good lineup
I didn't end up going, but I would have gone mainly just for spiritbox (in lieu of UO show as I've lost most of my interest in them). I'm glad to know they're good live for the next time they roll through. I hope to see them headline in a venue that I like more (I would have been going to the ATL show and the venue this was at also isn't my favorite for heavy shows, the last few metal shows I've been to there have just felt off sound and vibe wise). Were bad omens any good live? I'm not a huge fan of their stuff either but maybe they killed it live.
I was at the ATL show and the mayor’s office actually tried to shut it down before it started, so I didn’t even get inside until after Bad Omens played. The line was six blocks long because doors opened two hours late.
We’re sitting at 99 bands (including the unannounced headliner). I’m not saying I did a mock schedule while bored at work this morning… but each day definitely has room for four more bands if they start the main stage(s) earlier in the day than last year. So they could easily get this to 110 with more surprise announcements. I don’t think Gojira/Spiritbox were the last ones judging by how it all went last year.
I assumed they would wait until they were done playing the southeast on their most recent tour. Specially since they played almost exclusively the whole new album
when are the set times being released /s I’m mostly interested in the reaction to last year’s festival and the current state of music festivals.
I was supposed to interview him for Chorus months ago and we kept getting busy during the holidays so it never happened. I think it would be interesting to see his “white whale” bookings for Furnace Fest.
So with Norma Jean, Idle Threat, and Watashi Wa all playing the Labeled Tour with Emery, Oh Sleeper and Aaron Gillespie the week before this... the later three are probably in play for late adds/pre-shows.
