Didn’t the last one make like $400 mil as a January release? Absurd

 

Yeah, was one of the last big movies before COVID. I have to imagine the dearth of black-led movies, plus the smoke clearing from Will Smith, will mean it’s gonna do well.

 

Fury Road was a May release I think

I saw the 3rd one and remember nothing about it.

 

I've seen none of them and dont plan to change that

 

I'm starting to get flashbacks of being dragged to random 90s family comedies with my mom and/or sister as a kid. Did that happen to any of you?

This was so awesome. I've got it a half-star below Fury Road right now, but that could easily change as I spend more time with it and rewatch them together.

Glad it had a guy whose job is to remember history and define long words, something I can aspire to in the wasteland.

 

Mad Max is more of a cult franchise - so doing a spinoff prequel does make it less appealing to general audiences. It’s a niche of a niche.

Of course, great movies deserve to do well but this will have a long tail. In the end I’m just happy that Miller got to make it all

 

total bummer that this is probably the last of these we’ll get
