Yeah, was one of the last big movies before COVID. I have to imagine the dearth of black-led movies, plus the smoke clearing from Will Smith, will mean it’s gonna do well.

This was so awesome. I've got it a half-star below Fury Road right now, but that could easily change as I spend more time with it and rewatch them together. Glad it had a guy whose job is to remember history and define long words, something I can aspire to in the wasteland.
Mad Max is more of a cult franchise - so doing a spinoff prequel does make it less appealing to general audiences. It’s a niche of a niche. Of course, great movies deserve to do well but this will have a long tail. In the end I’m just happy that Miller got to make it all
