Having only seen Fury Road, decided to watch the old MM movies. Man, the first one is a HUGE dud. I don't get the love for it, at all. Doesn't even feel like a MM movie. The second one is so so much better.
i've only ever seen Fury Road too and i was trying to figure out the timeline the other day seems like George Miller doesn't really care lol
Mad Max (1979) is very much of its time. It was the most profitable film ever made until The Blair With Project. On a level of acknowledging, Miller & friends made a little ozploitation film that kickstarted everyone's career and a franchise it's kinda neat. But for today's standards (and what we have seen in the sequels) it doesn't hold up as that fun of a watch for me personally. Road Warrior absolutely rips tho
Not watching any movie with someone who thinks I control the media so whatever happens in those movies isn't my business
I keep forgetting that I’m as close to being able to see this as I am, lol, and then being happily surprised.
Maybe it means the overall story thread is simple but a lot of stuff happens in it? Or maybe a lot of dialogue but not a lot happens? Just taking a stab at it.
Fury road is about some people driving into a desert and then turning around. Not sure how it could be simpler than that.
