I’d love a reunion more than anything. Really any music from Nate at this point. However, he seems to really resent his time as a big time pop musician. I don’t quite understand why, but it makes it seem like any sort of Fun. reunion would never ever happen. What a shame.
I know this comes up pretty often, but don’t Jack and Nate not really like each other anymore? I feel like I remember one of them wanting to get back into the studio for another album and the other putting it off.
Pretty sure they played a 'new song' on a late night show or in concerts prior to the breakup. I think that song ended up on Nate's solo album.
Wrote about this album, how influential it ended up being, and the band's rise and fall. fun. – Some Nights
Easily the most depressing band to still follow. Nate on twitter in unbearable. I can just hear how sarcastic he would be on stage if he were to get them back together. Shame, since they put out two stellar albums.
Andrew did an interview a little while back saying they all still love each other. No bad blood, just creative differences.
I think a lot of the "drama" about then not being friends is pretty baseless based on lack of them talking about it, which is their prerogative.
It just doesn't seem like Jack or Nate enjoyed their time in fun towards the end, judging by how don't they seem to like it being brought up in interviews or Twitter. Then again, I really don't think Nate gives much of a shit about music in general anymore. He gave a half-hearted sorry tweet for canceling The Format tour and seems to really, really hate the music industry. He certainly has the right to feel that way (and the money to walk away).
The drama at the end was how Nate started his solo project in secret and then dropped the news on the other two members.
I know that's the assumption, but I don't recall ever seeing any members say that's what happened. I feel like a lot of this storyline is fan driven
It could be a ton of different things: Nate breaking up with Jack’s sister, Jack not wanting to be the “We Are Young” band, Nate’s solo album, his disillusionment, Bleachers or all or none of them. Either way, I don’t think Nate or Jack are interested in revisiting it any time soon.
Closest we’ll get to a heartfelt post about “Some Night”’s 10th anniversary from Nate (he’s leemealine).
Breaking news: he's an ass on twitter and is miserable even though he says he's not miserable. Nothing new here. Carry on (pun intended).
Personally think it’s kind of funny. If I made enough money from We Are Young to tell everyone to fuck off and not ask me about it ever I might do the same.
He's very obviously not miserable, dude is living his best life and if he doesn't want to make music then more power to him
He smiles (if you can say that) in maybe 2 photos on his wife’s IG over a a multi year period with any photo she posts with him/the family. That seems/looks like he’s miserable. I dunno. Could always be a facade. If he’s happy that’s great, but there’s no indication of that Anywhere online.
What a weird post. Imagine inferring someone’s happiness because of pictures on social media lmao people truly can’t comprehend that he just doesn’t want to be in the spotlight or make music anymore. Dude is doing what he wants and people get so angry he’s not doing what they want him to do
I don't want him to tour or be in the industry if it doesn't work for him, but I wish he was still writing and releasing music
Totally agree that Nate should do what’s right for him and his family. When they were together, fun toured their asses off. He clearly loves hanging with his kid, podcasting and shitposting in Twitter and I assume if the right thing comes along, like the Young Thug song, he’ll do it. He’s basically in Andre 3000 mode, which is perfectly fine.
