Well, bear in mind I had it on as I was getting work done. But yes, it’s extremely diverse; there were a few moments where I went and checked songs because of how unexpected some of the styles were. It still felt like there was something every five moments or so that made me pay attention and think, “Damn, this is good.” I’ve never been the biggest fan of David Comes to Life and haven’t listened to a whole lot of their discography, despite loving Glass Boys, so I was a little hesitant about this one. I’m excited to give it more time though, which I think says something.
The last 6 or 7 songs lose me. That said they're all good songs, esp the closer. But yeah I zone out by then. The first 11 tracks are fantastic.
Same for me. Loses momentum with too many slower songs, and it simply doesn’t hold your attention for — a staggering — 85 minutes. Love most of the first half though.
Yeah. I'm pretty sure if I started this at Two I's Closed I would love the second half but I don't know I don't know how I feel about it as a whole.
I just got a shipment confirmation e-mail indicating that my order shipped...last Wednesday! It's out for delivery today!
This album is just massive. So many different things going on, but I think listened to as a whole it all works. Using so many different vocalists really helps to give Damian's parts more weight.
I've been meaning to check them out for a while, and I'm finally getting around to it with this album. Very into it so far.
Everything I’ve heard from this has been the best stuff I’ve heard from this band but I wish this album wasn’t two days long
Yeah, every time Damian comes in on one of these songs, it’s just flat-out awesome, and I think they did a great job with all the guest vocalists. They really do help give the album a better pace and impact that it wouldn’t have otherwise.
Yea this is pretty great. I think I prefer David Comes to a life but yea damn. Also overwhelmed by the amount of solid music that came out Friday. Absurd.
