I had to nope out of that Draconic dude for a while but just beat that jerk last night. My archer summon and rot breath did some heavy lifting there (I found it a bit easier using ranged attacks on my horse to distract him while my archer unloaded some shots on him fwiw)
learning how there was a bunch of people that could help you for boss fights with summons makes me low key sad because I would have liked it but also damn I managed to do them solo which is nice
hopped back in after taking some time away from this game; rode around and explored various lovely landscapes, and got murdered in every one of them. still not really handling the difficulty learning curve here. as someone with really bad reaction time it's got me struggling kinda wish i went with a more magic based character from the jump; some of the spells i see people using look cool as hell, and right now i have no fucking clue how to use spells/incantations/ashes at all lol also, Dunkey again with some constructive criticism
finally beat the fire giant. still annoys me that I nearly kill it the first try and then I gotta spend like 2+ hours to finally beat it. And still feels like it mostly comes down to luck for it not to blast you with a one shot attack. definitely the least fun part of the game so far.
I completely understand your frustration. Although, the success of the game is the ability the walk away from a boss, area, etc. Most times when I kept getting my ass handed to me I was under leveled. So I left, fought something else and came back. It has worked pretty much every time. I also think a lot of people take pride in being able to take down a boss by yourself but there is absolutely ZERO shame in putting down a summon sign and recruiting a friend or random. It’s built into the game! Lastly, any build should be able to take down any boss. It’s a lot of trial and error. Which isn’t for everyone.
hes actually kinda right about a lot of things. i dont think the game is really all that difficult personally, but yeah enemy damage output is completely out of whack in a lot of spots. but thats sort of why spirit ashes are a core part of gameplay to mitigate some or all of that damage for you. and the rune gains from certain enemies is not balanced whatsoever.
I hopped on my NG+ character to mess around and keep blazing through the story and hoarfrost stomp seems to still work just fine for me. Maybe I’m a bit overleveled but I just plowed through the capital at level 150 on journey 2
I dunno, it seemed pretty pointless to me after the patch. My normal weapon attacks were a lot faster and did more damage than the stomp
took me about an hour to get from capital outskirts to the lift that gets you to the mountaintop of the giants. NG+ has been quite easy so far but i know im gonna hit a wall soon if not toward the end of this playthrough then at some point in journey 3.
Took a little detour for the best shield in the game. Can literally block anything and can deal damage. It’s a pain in the ass to get but it’s mine! Lol
