With ashes, it looks like sometimes it increases scaling but lessens base attack damage. Does that make sense and Is the tradeoff generally worth it?
Also pro tip: if you have another katana in your offhand with moonveil in your main your left bumper attack is overpowered as fuck
I never relied on my ashes to deal out damage (although somehow my mimic got the final blow on malenia lol) but more as a tank/distraction to allow me to get good hits in especially from the back
I replaced uchi with malenias blade since I beat her but yeah that got me all the way to the end. Meteorite staff was my back up off hand for ranged opens

lol a finger maiden is literally like "nice rune take it to the tower and activate it!" and people are like "this game is too fucking obscure how would anyone know you have to activate them!?"
I’m going to be honest I missed the tower just because my dumbass didn’t fully explore the stormveil castle but then the magic witch or whatever her name is I learned has a confusing one because it requires a quest to unlock it
I still haven't played Elden Ring so I'm only making this connection based on everything I've been reading from you guys and etc., but as I've been playing the Leisure Suit Larry games and getting ridiculously frustrated with 80s game design, I start wondering if this is how all those people playing a From Software game for the first time feel. Is Leisure Suit Larry my Elden Ring?
i didnt know about great runes until after i got radahn's but it made the difference in many of my later fights where i put on margotts and used a rune arc with it to have the most health youve ever seen in your life
I used rune arcs early in the game thinking they would just give you hella runes and then after I got my first great arc I was like oh
started a fresh character, confessor type. up to 19 so far and digging the sword and shield gameplay a lot. guard counters feel so good.
Def didn’t realize I had to be activating a rune arc to have the ability take effect after every death. So I should save that for hard fights or something I take it? Also I’m on vacation for my sisters wedding and haven’t played in days and I’m dying
