I couldn’t believe how fast they fire arrows, being able to kite bosses between us is a nice backup cheese when I get stuck
I’ve had a few issues with mimic tear where a boss will one shot me after summoning it because of the health cost. More reason to dump point into vigor I guess!
I guess since I can finally access the location of the final volcano manor task I should take care of that next?
Is the Red Wolf supposed to be hard at all? Fact that it was in one of the dungeons, behind a fog door... was worried it was gonna be at least as hard as Margit but then all it took was a couple of big hammer jumps. Am I just super over leveled? (I'm like level 60) I do find the sprawling nature of this game a bit of a double edged sword that shows how hard it is to get difficulty just right. I do really enjoy that stuff doesn't magically just get stronger while you get stronger, because the ability to go back and stomp old stuff that used to be hard is one of most fun parts of the video game power fantasy. But I haven't found a lot of boss fights that hit the "takes a few fights to learn the trick to beating the boss, but eventually get there and can beat the thing" sweet spot. Its generally either "get my ass kicked hard enough I give up after the second try" or "take it out the first try without breaking too much of a sweat (maybe dying once because I was low on potions and it didn't give me a fog door)"
I also think it was one of the easier bosses but I could see how the close quarters could be an issue for some
I think with the sheer size of the world it’s inevitable you’re gonna be overtuned for certain boss fights when you come across them but I’ve still found a pretty large abundance of fights I have to work at and get better at that will take me anywhere from half an hour to an hour and a half to really nail down and then sometimes I think a boss is gonna take me forever and then I get its second try like margott and Astel yesterday. After my first attempt I was prepared for super long battles with both and then wound up getting them second try.
Got it. Oh well. Guess its better than being way underleveled. Plus squashing stuff is fun. But this is honestly another area where I feel like either a quest log or area markings on the map that other open world games have would make the game more fun: With a quest log, it could tells you that the level target for the Academy is say, level 40. Then I can go "okay well I'm bad so lets over level a bit" but once I hit around level 50 I can go "okay lets go clear our the Academy before its too much of a cakewalk and ruins the challenge" I'm sure for some people that would break the immersion too much and they are fine with missing areas and then discovering them when they are over leveled, and I suppose the whole "Lol this area is rated level 40 and I'm still getting my ass kicked at level 60" would add to some of the humiliation, but it is kinda disappointing to have some of these big cinematic boss fights the game is supposed to be known for turn into pushovers just because I didn't realize I was supposed to go some place sooner.
When I get home, I should post that one article I found way back that had Margit as the 17th boss, and you guys can see if that's absurd or not.
Weeping Peninsula is so cool. Glad I explored this area first before I delved into the castle. Got 3 more sacred tears, a nice sickle that scales off faith, two magic spells tho I need more INT, and I’m 19 dex/19 faith. Gonna keep going faith but I feel I should dump some points into INT for some spells
