Played about 9 hrs over the weekend and this is for sure challenging as a new player. (only ever played through like one or two bosses in Bloodborne with a friend assisting me through) Things are going slow but I'm figuring it out thanks to YouTube videos of character build guides, important early game items, and just general beginner guides for souls games/mechanics. All of it has been very indispensable as new player and theres a ton I'd miss otherwise. I'd never know how to two hand a weapon on the fly or where to get certain key items without guides which has been super important. I'm playing a paladin build (confessor). So far I've managed to grind my way up to level 26 after hitting a few catacomb bosses and farming the open world after noping out of the Margit fight. I havent attempted to face a Great Enemy since. Luckily I havent had to stray too far either since Limgrave or the Southern peninsula both have a ton of stuff to do. The second I went east and was attacked by a fucking runebear I almost shat myself and then a couple hour later I fought a mini-boss one in a cave and managed it in 2 tries so I'm definitely getting better as I go which feels satisfying. If anything, this games is teaching me to be extremely patient. Only complaint with the game I have atm is that I'm worried that the lack of quest log is going to be a big problem for me as I get deeper into the game and forget my progress in any quests i might be doing.
Just guessing without actual numbers I’m assuming the boss has somewhere in the neighborhood of 200k health one shots you at 35 vigor with heavy armor ima kill this mother fucker though
Never played a Souls game before. Saw the stellar reviews and thought I'd give it a shot. Tried for a few hours but ended up returning it. Not for me, sorry guys
what level are you? im not even planning on making my way there for a bit but im just curious what level everyone is able to take them down at
The castle is by far the most Souls like era in the game I have encountered just because you are on sort of set path with a few exceptions and the Sites of Grace get few and far between. I get farther and farther every time. That fire ballista is...oh boy...
I’m a big fan of putting my summon sign down before trying a boss myself to learn the mechanics and also helping out someone. But the back half of this game has restricted summons on quite a few of the harder bosses and that’s some cornball shit. a lot of players are just gonna put the game down
nope. the game forces you to kill them by yourself. (Including one that’s required to progress the story)
They aren’t known for changing things like that so there will be a lot of grinding on the back half it looks like.
I don't usually summon people but do these games usually let you use summons on every boss, even late game ones?
I know the game is much bigger than the souls series but it’s wild seeing some people get close to level 200 before finishing the game.
