Yeah I guess that's a better way to put it, was trying to find a way to say there'd be discourse about it if it's brought up but it's not forbidden and settled for "treated as" but that's better phrasing
People saying it’s “forbidden” to talk about make it seem like we have weird arbitrary rules, but why would you want to talk about a game whose developers have shown a disregard for women’s feelings, made crude sexual comments (even allegedly to their workers) and are actually forbidding people to talk about, and I quote, “feminist propaganda” when discussing the game? I hope that goes against your beliefs too! We do still have women posting here and completely glossing over these issues and gleefully posting about the game probably won’t make them feel safe. And for what it’s worth we have people posting about the game and except for getting a fairly courteous “please read the room” no one really said anything or shut them down, since not everyone knows about the situation surrounding this game. the time I did decide to speak up was when I saw someone posting about their disdain for the political messages in the game but was posting about playing the game elsewhere. That did rub me the wrong way. This forum has no problem drawing a hard line when it comes to musicians and movie makers, I don’t see why this is different.
Turns out I have never got the standard ending for ER, so I am doing a summonless run on NG+4 as a challenge while I go for that ending (which will get me the Platinum trophy). Think I am ruining my own challenge by using Pest Thread Spears though, it is too good and the majority of bosses I am beating with zero deaths - anyone ITT ever done a build using only Frost/Cold weapons + spells at all? Might re-spec to that if it is fun
Torch only update: Beat Radahn, I'm around level 36 but should hopefully get some more endurance soon. Nokron is a godsend since now I can finally use a torch that isn't fire-based for some bosses. Thinking about doing the Volcano Manor hunts next because I'm terrified of dealing with Rykard and I feel like I'ma need some crazy armor to deal with the lava, Scaled could be good shortterm and Bull-Goat longterm but I'm not sure if that's the best method I really wish torches could use some different Ashes Of War, there are some that feel like they'd be really nice without being broken and would make the experience much more fun but oh well, it's still a fun time! Less like a challenge run and more like just a weird build
Oh god I don't know if I'm good enough for that hahaha Next is probably Level 1 DLC (but I have to set up a new character for it...I accidentally took Brave Sir Robin into NG+) and then idk what, thought about No Hit or No Death but I don't think I'm good enough for that either
Rennala is down and I gotta say, it becomes a lot more apparent in this game how much it rains + how many boss fights take place in water when your main source of damage is a torch. Holy hell EDIT: DTS down too now thank god, going for Morgott and then Niall and then Mohg
Sorry for the quad post and spamming (but kinda not since I'm still posting it) Beat Morgott pretty easily, then went for Astel and beat it. Got walled by Niall and haven't gotten past him with this build. Mohg has also been difficult but I think that's my next focus. Beat Gargoyles, Fortissax, and Fire Giant. Fire Giant was AWFUL with this setup unsurprisingly
First try on Placidusax with the torch I got so damn good at that fight due to RL1 Wonderfully designed fight
Finally went around to fighting Rykard on torch only. It wasn't too bad, got him in 1 try, some of his hitboxes are very very weird so it took me a bit to figure out how to deal damage to him at all in second phase but once I got it he was done for. Was a lot easier than I would've expected because that fire damage from the lava is pretty nothing, but I hadn't attempted Rykard without Sepent Hunter before now so I had no idea. Also I beat a lot of DLC shit. On this playthrough I've learned a lot more why people don't like Metyr and Putrescent Knight, I agree with them on Metyr and am neutral on Knight now Remembrance bosses left: Malenia Godfrey/Hoarah Loux Radagon/Elden Beast Promised Consort Radahn
Yesterday I remembered and kicked myself for forgetting From's magnum opus and true watershed moment, Cookie and Cream. Forget Bloodborne, where is Cookie and Cream Rebaked Edition?
Been mostly crusing through the DLC thus far and now Im getting my ass kicked by Scadutree Avatar. Posting here so that I can beat it next try
i didn't find that one TOO tough, but then again, i did summon my mimic as a distraction so i could whack away on my horse also, still haven't beaten Radahn. fuck him AND Miquella.(spoiler tagged in case anyone hasn't gotten that far and somehow hasn't had it spoiled for them yet)
Taking a break from my torch run, feeling some Elden Ring burnout Playing Astro Bot and Core Keeper and other stuff during my break but also thinking about finally playing through Dark Souls 2
Oof, DS2 was frustrating. It’s one of the only From games that I think veers closer to “unfair” than “hard”
