Felt a lot better about pretty much everything else since facing Gaius. Abyssal Woods was spooky. Really got a Bloodborne Forbidden Woods feel. Just wish there was more going on in there. Felt very empty. Loved the Midra fight and weapon you get is pretty fun. Think I was somewhat overpowered for Messmer. Phase 1 was pretty straightforward to learn after a few tries. Definitely got my ass handed to me until I got the timing down. I was surprised he didn't give me much trouble outside of the initial barrage of snakes he hits you with in phase 2. Once you get past the sensory overload its not terrible to avoid most attacks. Part of me wishes he had 2 full health bars to make him beefier after transforming.
I think they did a great job with essentially setting everyone back to zero and the more you explore the better weapons you get and collecting the fragments. Going back through once I am done with a guide would be cool because I am sure there is a ton of stuff I have missed.
Alright I think Radahn is possible but it’s still gonna take a while. I have +15 scadutree and I know I can go get a few more but I have no idea where to look because as far as I know I have swept through the entire map
just seeing the thumbnail for that video reminded me that the putrescent cleaver is an insane weapon. Ash of war on it goes crazy.
I am straight up not having a good time with the final boss of the DLC I know the spoilers are out there but I don't want to ruin it for anyone who may have missed it lol
His second phase is actually not that hard and pretty easy to dodge the snake grabs if you can get there without burning through your resources
I don’t think I can do it solo but I’ve gotten close bringing in co-op people but everyone dies in phase 2 or I die in phase 2. I’ve found phase 1 to be very easy if I can get a scarlet aeonia off without getting killed but getting one off in phase 2 is really only gonna do so much and it’s very very hard to get one off without dying and actually hitting him
I would like to know where all the scadutree fragments I missed are but I forgot where I got all the ones I have so looking at maps and lists isn’t helping figure it out
I watched one of Ongbal's videos earlier of him fighting the final boss RL1 with only beast claws (lol), and he did an absolute genius play that could help some people out ITT (I will spoiler tag it tho just incase!) You can completely cancel the giant meteor attack in phase 2 by just casting one of those dragon breath spells as soon as the boss disappears. It is something to do with you hovering in mid-air that cancels the meteor, so potentially you could even jump up and down repeatedly, and said boss will just suddenly appear back in the arena again and you do not have to worry about taking huge damage!
Honestly, I’m not finding the DLC difficult. It might be because I’m finding all the fragments but it’s honestly pretty fair and not one enemy has been unfair.
Might have to take a break if I don’t get it soon. That was just heartbreaking. My scarlet rot stopped ticking the second time he grabbed me
I’ve gotten that close five times now which has left me feeling like it’s definitely possible but also a new type of frustrated
