I edited and added some other thoughts as well, barely missed updating in time haha but it's a good preview of what my ranking looks like

 

Seen so many people have pure hatred in their hearts for this final boss lol, can't wait!

Still barely made any story progress, just been exploring everywhere I can and doing every dungeon I come across. No idea what area this was in, but I found a Ghostflame Dragon fighting an encampment of Messmer Soldiers and I just stood there for 5-10mins with my telescope watching the fight lol (until the dragon flew over and landed right beside me )

Am loving the Great Katana with the Ichimonji AOW attack too! I maxed it out as soon as I got it, can't believe how aggressive the L2 + R2 is, just smokes so many of the bigger standard enemies.

 

Yeah I just really really didn't enjoy beating it haha

Maybe I'll come around on it though, sometimes it takes time, I won't commit to being a hater yet

A funny thing is this character I did the DLC on did not beat Malenia, I took one of the new weapons into the Malenia fight and it was EMBARRASSING how much she got destroyed

(Also to your point it was great katanas, I LOVE them)

 

That's a quality I love about these DLCs, how much they can change the main game (without COMPLETELY trivializing it but still providing new avenues to make it easier) while providing their own challenges. Bringing things like the Whirligig Saw into the main game of Bloodborne and the Gael sword into DS3 made the experiences so much more fun.

 

I've been doing a strength arcane build this time around so Ive been using the Putrescence Cleaver since getting it. Went back and fought Loretta in the Haligtree and it was just unfair. Looking forward to running through Farum Azula after I beat this last guy.

 

I have been avoiding spoilers as much as I can, but did see a single 10-second clip of said final boss one-shotting a player with the literal first attack after they walked through the fog and I'll be honest, it did scare me . I also saw Zullie The Witch say that the new Deflecting Hardtear was very helpful in them finally beating it after 10 hours, so perhaps I will practice with that as I go through the DLC in preparation!

And yeah they are so cool; only picked up 2 of them so far but the standard one is real nice, I am usually someone who prefers faster weapons but the AOW is too good not to use atm.

 

I’m looking forward to the DLC but I’m really looking forward to getting DLC weapons and taking them into NG+

it took me a sec to get back into the game again

i thought i was buggin for a sec when i couldn't access the DLC after beating the two bosses (on my NG+ file) but it turns out Xbox users have to manually install the DLC (i thought it was already installed, now i have to wait an hour )

 

I found the coffin in the shadow keep, that’s all I’ll say, and wow this map is nuts

 

Back in the fun timing of the game again baby let’s goooooo

just beat the hippo and went back to beat the dancing in the last 5 min

 

Just got to the church district. This game just keeps giving

 

Took out Lion last night. Now near the first big dungeon down to the left of is possibly at the base of where you kill the lion. It’s full of pots and gross guys. About to enter the fog gate

 

I’m assuming that Demi human spirit ash is good? Cuz that’s all that came of that dungeon lol

 

Messmer is kicking the shit out of me

 

Got him, didn’t realize there was a summons. You already know I’m using all the summons word to Miyazaki

 

Man fuck that Hippo in Shadow Keep, that is legitimately the worst boss I have seen in ER as a whole. Don’t know what’s worse, the charge/grab or the fact you just get stuck under it half the time

 

Dont mean to brag, but I was justs promised a thousand year voyage, guided by compassion.

Took out the ghostflame dragon, cleared out the nearby town, and crossed the Elac great bridge. DLC is goat’d

 

Yeah this DLC is incredible. It’s more Elden Ring, but it’s one of my favorite games of all time so it’s more of my favorite thing lol

 

I love when I just get completed lost and then keep wandering around expecting to find a whole new area only to discover that I’ve just done a complete 360 and ended up right where I started

 

Also been leveling up Endurance primarily, got it at level 36 now and it’s helping tremendously along with the turtle talisman

 

I am still on vacation and am living vicariously through you all. Will be able to play later this week.

 

Just beat Messmer, insanely badass fight - that second phase is just complete chaos, I got very luck that poor NPC summon took some of the hard-hitting moves for me at key times!!! Perhaps a top 5 boss in the game for me, design, weapon, moves all 10/10.
