I truly don't remember why, but I beat almost the entire base game (including the final boss series) with a +25 Uchigatana. After getting my face kicked in by Dancing Lion for a while I realized Hand of Malenia was just better and now I can Waterfowl people. Definitely back in the swing of things now and having a blast!
those base weapons could get you so far in the base game but man the difference between those and some weapons you get in the late game is night and day. Malikeths black blade is a blast
I'm not saying I had a problem with those first 2 Remembrance Bosses - both took 5-6 tries max - just that they hit hard with big attack chains (Rellana especially). However I am now concerned I have missed Scadutree Fragments; I think I am +4 on both attack power and summon power and have just got to Scadu Altus - is +4 low or about right?
I did this lol, just with a +25 Nagakiba instead - and am still doing it in this DLC! Buff with Vyke's Dragonbolt and I am good to go, few lightning spells like Ancient Dragons Lightning Strike or Frozen Lightning Spear for when I need something a bit different against big enemies. I enjoy it!
I haven't used it in battle but the weapon art is pretty cool on the axe too, like a lightning bloodhound step and you can dual wield!
my mild complaints with the DLC are that there are too many dragons and also not enough scarabs around the map with cool items. Took me forever to even run into one randomly. I have a soft spot for bonking them and getting random cool stuff idk man. Regardless of there being too many regular field dragons, I got to Bayle the Dread and gotta say he might be the coolest dragon design in the entire game for me as frustrating as his fight could be. Phase change on that fight is bonkers.
They have a dragon called the Dread? GRR Martin really having a influence on them still love to see it
The first remembrance boss has been beaten at new game +7 RL1 with no Scadutree Fragments This does feel like other FromSoft experiences in that things feel impossible until they aren't, I think the balance is fine. I've been playing through this DLC thinking "there's no way I can do this at RL1" but hey maybe
WHAT I guess it makes total sense lmao but I can't believe they didn't think of that (or maybe they did and don't care)
Made some progress last night. Fought dancing lion (very neat design) and Rellana. The former I beat so fast I was convinced there had to be a second phase lol. The latter was a definite challenge.
lol I’ve been doing some cheesy shit with my mimic where I summon with tons of armaments equipped I don’t used and then quickly go back to my normal set up while this mf is dual wielding blasphemous blade and golden halberd
Just beat Bayle, that fight was fun and extremely hard. My kid beat Bayle too, he's close to done with the DLC but I'm exploring around more
I use that logic all the time. Oh, I did adult things? Let me reward myself by feeling like a kid again.
This dlc is so fucking massive. I’ve been in the shadow keep for like 4 hours. I’ve unlocked so many new paths. It makes me so anxious
yeah. It’s honestly incredible how dense the world is. Miyazaki saying it’s roughly the size of Limgrave is laughable. It’s probably close to the size of the entire base game.
