I know they said the new map is supposed to be about limgrave in size. Seems bigger to me but could just be the visual design (i haven’t discovered it all yet). what they don’t tell you is how much variety there is in the environments in a fairly dense map compared to the full game. Feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface getting kinda close to 20 hrs with slow paced exploration so I don’t miss stuff along the way. Loving my time so far. I’m also finding the new light great sword weapon type enjoyable. It’s like a slightly bulkier rapier. Added a frost ash of war to the one I found and feels really effective and fun to use. Nice contrast to my usual ultra great sword load out.
Yeah the fighting cowboy review said the variety in the map is one of his favorite parts. Still in Graveyard Plains. Haven’t found by fai weapons yet or a blacksmith for that matter
Based on everything I've seen and heard, I think calling it the size of Limgrave is both inaccurate and maybe deliberately misleading, as it says nothing about the landmass from a height perspective, and it's my understanding there's a lot more verticality to the map. Players, true or false?
It’s more like limgrave/weeping peninsula/caelid, and insanely vertical. Like I’ve already explored whole areas under Graveyard Plains, but it’s not a different plain in the map so it makes navigating pretty hard.
Just started the DLC tonight, took blackgaol knight down 3rd or 4th try solely due to Nagakiba + unsheathe AOW knocking him out of the air in his jump attack! Everything looks so incredible though - I don’t want to fight fire golem cause I really just like watching him lumber around minding his own business lol, such a cool design
Maliketh down third try sheeeeeesh I am good. I thought he was legitimately the hardest boss of all time my first playthrough
That thing kicked my ass, couple tries I died within 10 seconds lol. Not ashamed to say that the summons carried me through it, I found if you are too close to it the camera can work against you
I've wandered around quite a bit, I just also stumbled on him The south area I still have a lot to explore in though, I kept finding a lotta nothing which means I was just missing things
The challenge for the dlc was disorienting at first but after getting a solid 3 hour session last night I’m in love again. It’s almost a full sequel and I have the same awe/wonder mixed with fear that I did when I started the base game.
I know everyone wants to say “get gud” but I do think the remembrance bosses I’ve fought in the DLC are straight up cheap. Infinite stamina, infinite poise, incredible speed, never stop attacking, hits like a fucking truck, heals. You don’t get to be all of that
Yeah was gonna post something similar, I have only done the first two but they hit SO hard I was very taken aback. I used Mimic Tear + the Gold NPC Summon for each and would not have defeated them without that help. I still liked them though as they were still great fights/great designs/great moves etc., and got them done before any real frustration set in.
I thought the first two were perfectly fine Third one I can see an argument for, some of those strings are insane
Truly, anybody struggling against the earlier bosses, go looking for the scadutree fragments. There are a lot that you can get before fighting anybody and they make things way more manageable.
DLC is done outside of 2 optional bosses I missed final boss is the hardest boss they’ve ever made. first time I nearly quit a FromSoft game Bayle also beat my brains in and is up there too masterful from FromSoft and might very likely be a GOTY contender on its own
