Last week I barely found out about the deep root depths and it’s such a long and challenging way to get there I don’t see how people find these things without looking. Game rules.

 

As we get closer to Shadow of the Erdtree, what are people's favorite weapons at the moment?

This is my personal top 10 (not best but favorite)
Morning Star
Envoy's Long Horn
Reduvia
Great Stars
Winged Scythe
Inseparable Sword
Eleonora's Poleblade
Cross-Naginata
Nagakiba
Wakizashi

 

Yeah I didn't find it at ALL until my second playthrough, first time I completely missed it

 

My play style is very specific so my favorite weapons don't vary much, mostly big swords, otherwise Im fucking around with novelty weapons like the big finger and spinny wheel of death:

Guts Great Sword
Zweihander
Bloodhound's Fang
Elenora's Poleblade (with a second twinblade in other hand)

 

I really only used rivers of blood and the uchigatana I’m basic as hell lol

 

Uchigitana might be my pick for best weapon (factoring in the really low stat requirements)

 

Though Blasphemous Blade and Moonveil have pretty low reqs too

It's probably those two

 

I used Uchigatana with Bleed almost exclusively along with Lion's Claw and my Mimic and I beat the whole game that way because I'm a pleb.

 

I don't think I've ever seen Lion's Claw until right now

 

Oh, it's great. Knock people down until they stay down, that's the way.

 

That's pretty much what Blasphemous Blade is too, just hit L2/LT and knock everyone down

 

Hand of Malenia is pretty great too. Nagakiba always a solid standby.

 

I wanna try out Hand of Malenia more

 

Where do you get the winged scythe? Might use it on this current run

 

I don't remember EXACTLY which ruins it is but it's one of the ruins that's on the west side of Weeping Peninsula, kinda near where that hut is on the beach

i was running dual katanas with it. then had the nagakiba with enhanced bleed to make it 100%+ lol

 

Royal knight Loretta down third try that was tough


I did dual katanas and hoarfrost stomp my first run before the patch that nerfed the stomp lol it was a cheat code

 

Hoarfrost Stomp is still really good but holy fuck it was amazing back then haha

 

Lmao I must’ve accidentally sold the winged scythe trying to get enough runes for something I’m so stupid. Does anyone have a spare character with it that can drop me one?

 

I’ve been using it a bit this run and it helps a lot

 

I probably do somewhere, what device do you play on? I have ER on PS5 and PC and I'm sure one of the characters on one of those has Winged Scythe that isn't using it

 

PC! Just lemme know I’m not in a huge rush right now I’m using lordsworn’s heavy greatsword +7 but eventually I am gonna want to start putting more points into faith and I know the winged scythe is a good faith weapon. There’s a weapon in the plateau and one in caelid I’ve heard about that are good too

 

I haven’t done the academy and just finished the manor so I’m about to finally start the rani quest

I know I’m gonna be a few weeks late to the DLC but I’d rather take my time going through the entire game again than get burnt out before it drops so elden ring isn’t my main focus now but I am trying to put a few hours in every few days just to keep making forward progress
