It was Laurence for me I assume we're excluding Living Failures because otherwise it's definitely them haha
I hope its as challenging as that makes it seem, though I think I'm like 30ish hrs into a new playthrough and havent even thought about going to Mohgwyn Palace yet. Maybe they figured out a way to speed up that process for people but also very on brand if Fromsoft just doesnt give a fuck and makes it so you have to beat Mohg to access the dlc.
"A new element of progression unique to this DLC area has also been implemented, which further heightens player freedom to walk away, level up, and come back later." curious what this means
If this is happening before the Shattering could it be that runes aren't dropped on death? I'm guessing it's more complex than that and there's just a different leveling mechanic in general but yeah pre-Shattering there wouldn't be runes to gain/pick up. Unless they just don't really care about that
In regards to access you can fight Mohg pretty early so I don't think it's that big a deal. Ringed City required beating one of SOC or Friede to access, I think requiring Mohg is mostly fine though I do wish they chose one where the early shortcut to the boss wasn't PVP (but it also makes too much sense lore-wise)
It depends on how patient the player is hahaha You can but yeah it'd be a slog, due to his general HP pool, his evasiveness in phase 2, and Nihil being very annoying without more flasks. I probably wouldn't bother but I'd also not bother going into DLC that early anyway, I've always seen it as closer to endgame content anyway
Happy second anniversary to Elden Ring. I’m celebrating by purchasing it on Steam. Im going for a spell blade build this time.
Been loving all the speculation the dlc trailer has spawned. I love the idea that the Land of Shadow is being hidden behind the 'veils' we see draping off the shadow tree in the trailer. The veils are being held up by the divine towers in the Lands Between and are like an illusory wall that separates the Land of Shadow from the Lands Between.
“When asked about mechanics unique to the DLC, Miyazaki starts of by mentioning the addition of a “level-up element.” He explains it as follows: “You will best understand it if you imagine something akin to ‘Attack Power’ in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. It’s something like an Attack Power separate from existing levels that is only effective within the DLC area.“
I’m replaying Dark Souls 1 and just saw a vagrant. Only the second one I’ve seen in over a thousand hours of gameplay
Vaati's vid on the trailer, in case anyone didn't see it amazing how he makes a 40 min lore video out of a 3 min trailer, lmao
Finally started a playthrough of Bloodborne over the weekend after being hounded to do so by friends for the past couple of years, and I'm already hooked. This is my second Fromsoft game after Elden Ring. Focusing on Vitality, Endurance, and Skill for the time being with the Saw Spear and Threaded Cane as my right-handed weapons, both of which are now up to +3. I've found the gun stagger mechanic to be pretty easy to perform, at least in the early game, which is shocking to me since my timing in general is real bad. I don't think I would have gotten past Father Gascoigne without it so I'm happy it's clicked. After getting my butt kicked repeatedly by the turret guy, I made my way to Blood Starved Beast and laid waste to him. Going to check out the chalice dungeons tonight to hopefully do some farming so I can go back and kill the turret guy.
Gascoigne is a definite wall boss. Took me a while to beat his second phase. Surprisingly Rom the Vacuous Spider was one of the hardest for me. And Laurence the first vicar. And…the orphan of kos was insanely hard (no surprise on that one though)
