I see two other people in here that were part of it. I’ll see you in the Nu Metal thread if you would like to continue this conversation.
That's so weird when games do that. Like, what's the point of even having a Level 1 then if you don't ever start there? I mean, I guess it's probably for calculations behind the scenes to have a base to start from even if it's not the base they want you to start at, but it's still weird.
Watched a few Vaati lore videos over the weekend and I'm gonna pick ER up again - I have forgotten so much about the game though so I can tell it will be tough to get back "up to speed", but I think I'm gonna do some sort of fire-based build to begin with, before the inevitable re-spec back to lightning within the first 3hrs of the game lol
I really think Vaati is who made me love Elden Ring honestly and made me finally see it as a 10/10. Learning more about the world made me appreciate it immensely more than I did my first time playing through My last build was frenzy and fire and it was fun
yeah, watching his prep video for Elden Ring made me appreciate the lore and the worldbuilding so much more. at this point Vaati is part of the FromSoft experience.
See I want to pick it up again when I feel like I’ve forgotten as much as I possibly will because I want it to feel as close to a blind playthrough as it can without it actually being my first time through lol. It is a game I wish I could experience for the first time again forever.
I feel that 100% but I think most of what I've forgotten is game mechanics, controls and build-related stuff - the world and the enemies within it are all so insanely good I will not be able to forget that for a long time, but I think it'd get frustrated quick if I stared getting my ass kicked because I'm still re-learning mechanics and builds.
Man, this DLC cannot come soon enough lol - I trust them completely with story elements and world design etc., but selfishly my two big hopes for it are that 1) there are some new 'Land of Reeds'-related weapons/armor and 2) They expand on Frost Lightning a bit more with a few more spells/weapons!
That's a good shout, there is a lot of stuff I never used as it did not "fit" my characters aesthetic lol
I'm saving my second playthrough of ER until the expansion is out but I've thought about it at least weakly since I beat it.
