I had to take a break, Radagon is so mean I've gotten so little EB practice (maybe 7 or 8 pulls) because I keep dying to Radagon, still a very good fight and so hard at RL1, not sure if it's better at RL1 or not, probably the same in enjoyment
I have at least 100 attempts on Radagon/Elden Beast now at RL1. (I use at least 1 boiled crab per pull, 2-3 if I get close to or start to fight EB, and I'm down 203 boiled crabs, so that's probably a low estimate.) I'm not sure if I'm good enough or mentally resilient enough to beat that fight. I need motivation and to not be down on myself about it but my god, that is a brutal count
Late the the party but finally got my hands on a PS5 since they're readily available nearly everywhere now and the first game I booted up was Elden Ring. HOLY CRAP the difference in load times when fast traveling or going to the round table is a game changer. Like 3-5 seconds consistently. Im now imagining all the time I could've saved on my original playthrough if I was on a better system than my PS4 slim from the start.
Been replaying Sekiro to finally try the gauntlets of strength and I just one shotted Isshin. Feelin good.
I'm finally consistently getting to Elden Beast, which has been a nice reminder that Elden Beast is god awful and a drag
Most improved fight on RL1: Godfrey/Hoarah Loux or Rennala Fight most hurt by RL1: Maliketh Fight made easiest by RL1: Morgott Fight made hardest by RL1: Radagon/Elden Beast It was fun-ish but I'm so happy to be done with it. Randomizer is tremendously more fun than RL1 for Elden Ring and I was burning out hard there at the end and didn't necessarily think I improved at playing the longer it went, more that I improved at optimizing and finding talisman/weapon combinations I liked. Ready to move on to something else now
Finally gonna try the Convergence mod for elden ring today. 27 starting classes, ton of new weapons, bosses, enemies, spells etc
Have you tried Reforged? It seems like a cool idea, I just haven't really touched any mods outside of the randomizer one
Yes! I think it’s much more polished now. I played through to maybe the halfway point when it was in alpha? I think deflecting was very wonky but they had some good additions. I haven’t checked back to see if they added anything new tbh
I started a Sekiro 0 vit increases run (per @PandaBear! 's suggestion) to see how that goes because I'm an addict and also don't want to work So far it's going pretty well, just finished GSO. It's probably equally as fun as Sekiro is in general, the challenge is more in the posture accumulation than anything and it's more of a "git gud" kind of fun than an experimentation kind of fun (but there's still a little experimentation)
hell yeah, that's good to hear. I almost picked Sekiro back up as have not played in well over a year and I wanted to try and re-master everything (and finally beat the dreaded Inner Owl gauntlet!) but I chose Sifu instead - huge mistake lol, I think it is much harder than Sekiro. Now that I am in my mid-Thirties I genuinely feel like difficult games are beyond my capabilities; my reaction times are so slow I cannot consistently deflect/parry enemies in the goddamn tutorial lmao
Inner Owl gauntlet is the hardest thing I've ever done, god it's exhausting haha I need to play Sifu soon, been meaning to
I beat both Genichiro and Guardian Ape in 1 try with base level health but died twice to the tree adds before Divine Dragon, I am a mess
Almost beat Sword Saint after SO many tries and my power surged, I think that's enough for me, TOTK time
I know I'm the one person posting repeatedly but I was bored while working before a 3 day weekend and did a FromSoftware bosses tier list and this is what I came up with for bosses that I consider my version of "perfect fights" (factoring in fun, difficulty, context, and more), from oldest to newest: Gehrman, the First Hunter Ludwig, the Holy Blade Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower Dancer of the Boreal Valley Nameless King Sister Friede (my favorite) Slave Knight Gael Genichiro Ashina Owl (Father) Sword Saint Isshin Godfrey/Hoarah Loux Malenia, Blade of Miquella What are your "perfect fights"?
Gehrman is probably my favorite, with Artorias second. Still need to get around to Sekiro with how great I’ve heard the bosses are, as well as the DS3 DLC
I havent played them in a long time but I really loved Manus and Artorias back in the day. Not sure if they hold up. Sword Saint Isshin is probably the most perfect boss fight Ive ever played.
I have only played Sekiro and ER myself, so will choose 5 from those: 1) Isshin Sword Saint - best final boss maybe ever 2) Malenia - pure difficulty; the challenge may be on par with Isshin SS 3) Owl (Father) - Miyazaki's favorite boss, says it all 4) Dragonlord Placidusax - perfect mix of design, combat and "spectacle" 5) Guardian Ape - for the Shinobi execution fake-out alone, incredible moment I have watched plenty of videos of the other games and know + accept bosses like Ludwig, Nameless King, lady Maria etc. are all top tier fights, but those 5 are the top ones I personally have done.
Anyway I’m playing demons souls remake and got to phalanx took me a few tries but once I grinded out some fire bombs it was simple
